"Ask anybody who’s been in Austin for more than a few years what the name Gourdough’s means to them and you’ll likely hear the words “giant,” “ridiculous,” and “bacon” thrown into the conversation. Gourdough’s is Austin’s original over-the-top donut shop, and while they briefly expanded into a few brick-and-mortar stores around town, they currently operate out of a lone trailer on South First. This is less of a donut you eat before work and more of one you treat as a massive dessert after a long night out, especially since they cost roughly $8 a pop. Expect to find things like gummy worms, slabs of bacon, and fried chicken on top. If you want novelty, you want Gourdough’s." - Nicolai McCrary
