"Yin Ji Chang Fen in Dynasty Plaza has had lines out the door since opening, and it’s easy to see why: this Guangzhou chain (self-crowned the “King of Chang Fen”) serves rice noodles so silky they feel like edible satin sheets. The chicken and mushroom version is the one you’ll think about days later, though you should also sneak in the fried chicken wings—crunchy, juicy, with a salted toasted finish. Congee is another sleeper hit, especially the crispy carp version with a cartilage crunch that’ll have you digging in the bowl for every last morsel. Inside, the restaurant is brightly lit and feels a bit like an upscale cafeteria, but between the generous portions, low prices, and frosty Hong Kong-style milk tea, the food would shine in any setting." - Mai Pham
