"Giorgio On Pine in Washington Square West feels like the default template for every Italian BYOB in Philly: lots of red sauce, people complaining about the Isgro line, and service so warm that you’ll invite your server to your cat’s birthday party. On their best nights, you’ll encounter lemon overpowering the demi glaze on sauteed veal and ravioli in a creamy tomato basil sauce that’s better than average. While nothing here is worth crossing town for, they have generous portions, lots of vegetarian options, and every pasta can be made gluten-free. So, it makes sense to head here when you’re nearby, need lots of dietary options for your group of friends, and your craving for pasta is undeniable. Just don’t forget the wine. photo credit: RACHEL LERRO" - Candis R. McLean
