"At Sushi Hil, one bite can get your full attention. This Mount Pleasant spot highlights the natural taste of the ingredients and lets them shine, whether it’s an expensive cut of tuna or just some chilled greens. You can go luxe here and get the best versions of the heavy hitters: lightly seared A5 wagyu nigiri, just warm enough to unlock the richness, or beautifully cut bluefin otoro sashimi. But even the humble spinach gomaae, dressed with sesame and wasabi, is prepared with such precision it makes every other version you’ve seem limp in comparison. Though the menu is clearly fish-forward, the vegetarian dishes are far from an afterthought, like the Super Garden Roll (avocado, mango, and spicy tomato ponzu), which is complex and vibrant, not a compromise.
