"$30.78. That’s how much a burger with fries and a Coke costs after tax and tip at Not A Damn Chance Burger (or NADC, if you’re short on breath). If that number doesn’t make you blink, then you can rest comfortably knowing that you’ll get a pretty good—if very salty—smashburger at this small East 6th joint. It comes as a double by default, made with wagyu beef, american cheese, grilled onions, pickles jalapeños, and enough “secret sauce” to guarantee the bun gives up and goes soggy about halfway through. But the patties have a great crust, and they’re juicy throughout. This is the type of burger that might knock you out for your 2pm Zoom call, but it’s perfect for soaking up a few drinks after a night of barhopping on the East Side. Despite its tiny footprint, this is actually the flagship location of a fast-growing mini-chain with outposts in Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Denver, and probably half a dozen more cities by the time you finish reading this sentence. NADC is a solid burger that won’t disappoint on quality alone, but you’ll find similar meals at Patty Palace or Golden Tiger for less money. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary" - Nicolai McCrary
