Samy's Curry Restaurant

"There have been plenty of upscale restaurants to come and go in the pricey Dempsey Hill area, but this Indian curry house has been here since the ’60s. We think it’s partly because it’s one of the most laid-back places in the neighborhood, but mostly because no one has ever gone to Samy’s and left hungry. Utensils are optional and every person gets to eat off their own absurdly large banana leaf. Order the signature fish head curry, some tangy calamansi juice, and whatever else catches your eye - just remember to bring some wet wipes." - Anthony Eu
