Canal Street Oysters

Restaurant · Tribeca

"Canal Street Oysters is nearly an ideal Happy Hour spot in that area where Soho meets Tribeca. The space, which feels like a high-end version of a Cape Cod seafood shack, is big enough that you don’t need to sneak to the elevator to avoid inviting the accounting department, and its location less than a block from the Canal Street subway is a convenient stop for oysters and natural wine before heading home. The only thing preventing Canal Street Oysters from being an ideal Happy Hour option is they don’t offer Happy Hour. So, your post-work pit-stop here can get very pricey, very quickly as you pay $3 or more per oyster and $14 for a glass of wine. If you’re OK with the prices, though, then you should come here for drinks at the huge horseshoe bar, or get a booth and share a seafood tower, like the one that comes with jonah crab and a bunch of giant prawns." - Matt Tervooren
