The Virginia-Highlands gelato shop feels like you’ve temporarily been whisked away to a simpler time, with jars of tomato sauce and olive oil for sale on the small shelves, and black and white photos on the walls. The offerings change seasonally, rotating from a list of housemade flavors like stracciatella, biscotti, egg custard, and fig. If you have questions about your avocado gelato or any flavor, the owner is more than happy to share the details—and samples. And don't miss their cannoli and tiramisu if you're in the mood for more Italian sweets.
