Restaurant Cadaqués Barcelona

Mediterranean restaurant · La Barceloneta

"Cadaqués in Barceloneta is the only spot in town that delivers perfectly textured rice with that full smoky aroma (it's made the traditional Valencian way, over a wood fire). The restaurant has a fisherman-themed décor that’s more classy than kitschy, and a rice menu that goes beyond the classic negro and marinera. The one to zero in on is the arroz bruto, or dirty rice, named after the color it gets from the briny squid ink. It’s full of tender calamari, clams, and monkfish, and packs a garlicky punch, especially if you add extra aioli, which you should unless you have a date later. The grilled seafood starters like baby razor clams from the Ebro Delta will remind you how hungry you are as you wait for your rice to finish cooking. photo credit: Sara Larsson" - Isabelle Kliger
