"The Po’Boy Shop seems like a small counter-service joint until you head to the basement—a neon-lit oasis with pool tables and darts for the 21-and-up crowd. Their menu has all the usual NOLA standards: tasty gumbo, red beans and rice, and jambalaya. But, it’s not called the gumbo shop, so get the po'boys, which are the best we’ve had outside of Louisiana. Out of the 20 sandwich options, we’re partial to the Debris, which comes with tender roasted beef, gravy, and a warning label that it’s messy (can confirm). The visit isn’t complete without a strong hurricane or Purple Voodoo." - juli horsford, jacinta howard, nina reeder
