"Our favourite time of day at Golborne Deli & Wine Store is lunch. When games of ‘guess the job of the Hugh Grant-lookalike quaffing white wine on a Wednesday afternoon’ really take off, and the bistro seating tumbling into the villagey street becomes a living, breathing advert for picking up smoking again. It’s a scene you’ll want to be a part of. Tasty plates of scrambled eggs are placed in front of mother-daughter duos having hand-clasping catch-ups, and inside, on the big shared wooden table surrounded by magnums and fruity numbers from the Rhône Valley, we’ve overheard snatches of phone calls that go a little something like: “no, the Maserati’s out, he wants the Bentley now.” Even if you’re just looking for a coffee fix or somewhere to drag a tourist, this is a deliciously charming spot to have up your sleeve." - Sinéad Cranna
