"Every table at this Chinese spot is usually full of friends, couples, and families sharing the same dish: Twin Lobster Sticky Rice. It’s basically JM Seafood’s poster child, and this loaded steam basket with gingery lobster meat is a knockout. But point at anything on the massive menu, and it’ll be fantastic. The fried salt and pepper soft-shell crab will revamp your definition of “crispy.” The saucy beef with oyster mushrooms is cooked to juicy perfection. And one bite of creamy fried pumpkin in salted egg yolk will convince you to claim the whole plate is now yours. Snagging a table usually requires some luck and calling to get on a waitlist, but once you’re face to face (to face) with two lobster heads, it’s all worth it. Food Rundown photo credit: John Ringor Twin Lobster Sticky Rice It’s impossible not to stare in awe whenever an order of this parades through the dining room. But it’s even more exciting when it’s front and center on your lucky table. The rice has a soft chew and is full of ginger and scallion flavor, plus some savoriness from Chinese sausage and tiny salted shrimps sprinkled throughout. The pieces of lobster are also pre-cracked, so you won’t have to do much work to excavate the delicious juicy meat. photo credit: John Ringor Salted Egg Yolk Fried Pumpkin These fried pumpkin slices have an excellent crisp and sweetness, while the salted egg yolk adds a rich creaminess and umami. We like snacking on these between bites of other dishes, but we don’t blame you if you feel compelled to have a one-on-one with this excellent plate of squash. photo credit: John Ringor Beef With Oyster Mushrooms While the cubed pieces of cow covered in a savory sauce are delicious and perfectly tender, the vegetables in this do an equal amount of heavy lifting. The plump mushrooms almost function as a secondary meat, and the onions and celery add some crispness into the mix." - John Ringor
