"Not every restaurant can straddle the line of nice-enough-for-special-occasions and comfortable-enough-for-a-low-key-weeknight-meal, but Range Life more than pulls it off. Huge windows let lots of light into the white brick, plant-filled space, making it feel a little like the Greenpoint loft of an independently wealthy artist. But as casual as the space is, the food is easily as good as what you might find at the kind of place where place settings include several different sizes of forks. The menu changes with the season, but if you’re here on a Monday and the fried chicken is available, get it–it’s shatteringly crisp with juicy insides. Round out the meal with the toasty-bitter milk and honey–malted milk ice cream, burnt honeycomb, and olive oil." - Gabi Moskowitz
