"Part of the Samesun chain, I especially liked the six-bed dorms with cozy pod beds that give more privacy than normal bunks and include a personal light, shelf, and outlets. Bathrooms are clean and numerous, and the hostel offers a decent free breakfast (eggs and hot cereal), a full kitchen, plenty of common areas, daily hikes, and the Beaver Bar lounge with food, beer, and a daily happy hour. The downsides are small rooms (the four-bed dorms are tight) and no elevators, so you’ll be hauling bags up stairs. Its location in the Granville district is excellent for bars and restaurants and is close to historic Gastown, though the area can be noisy at night; note it was temporarily closed as of winter 2023." - Matthew Kepnes
