"A steep beginning flattens out to a Lord of the Rings-like oasis on this Signal Mountain hike. There’s something familiar, even familial about these woods. History states Native Americans used fire and smoke signals to communicate across the Tennessee Valley from Signal Point. During the American Civil War, Union soldiers used Signal Point as a communication post. As your trusty guides, we’d estimate a 20-minute jaunt to the overlook.
