"Saffron Kabob House, Greater Sharpstown. Our craving for Afghani fare led us to this fine eatery in little India. We always order the Mantu—light pillowy dumplings filled with lamb, onion and spices and topped with a savory yogurt lentil sauce—and Qabuli Palow, the famous Afghani dish of seasoned lamb shank served in a bed of saffron rice and pickled sweet carrots and raisins. A cozy cushioned seating area is offered for those who wish to sit crossed legged on the floor."
