Coltivare
Italian restaurant · Washington Avenue
Come to Coltivare to eat tagliatelle in a garden. - Review - Houston - The Infatuation
The Heights restaurant checks many standard Houston Italian restaurant boxes: minimal lighting, dark wooden walls, and people leaning over candlelight while sharing a bottle of wine. But the real selling point is the covered patio and the lush garden where you can soak up the sun and live what temporarily feels like a slow life. Split a pizza loaded with spicy, slow-roasted pork with your friends, make a plate of fried oyster mushrooms disappear in record time, or "Lady And The Tramp" some warming cacio e pepe under a giant, shady fig tree. photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen Pause Unmute Food Rundown Chicken Wings The wings have a perfect amount of heat from the chile-infused sauce it's covered in. And with the acidity from the lemon drizzled on top, this balanced starter is so good that we don’t mind the inevitable sauce drip. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Pizza The expertly assembled ingredient-laden pizzas rotate regularly at Coltivare. Opt for the spicy pork pizza with a sneaky heat from sliced peppers. photo credit: Mikah Danae Wood-Grilled Chicken This is one of the simplest dishes here. But the chicken is juicy with a crispy, charred skin that any BBQ lover would daydream about. The grilled meat also makes for a great smoky complement to one of their seasonal pastas. photo credit: Mikah Danae Tagliatelle Verde Like many kinds of pasta here, the tagliatelle verde rotates out seasonally. But if it's on the menu, get it. The pasta absorbs the wild boar's rich flavor and has just the right amount of zest from the lemon coating the dish. photo credit: Quit Nguyen - Gianni Greene

Gourmandize
Mediterranean restaurant · Lamar Terrace
Gourmandize - Review - Galleria - Houston - The Infatuation
The Galleria Food Truck Park off Chimney Rock hums with pure spectral chaos. And the bright lights and billow of charcoal smoke from Gourmandize hold court right up front. This Tunisian spot is one of the best food trucks in Houston. Almost everyone is either parked sub legally grabbing a takeout order or hawking goods like an impromptu swap meet. And at least half of those are lined up at Gourmandize. The truck’s blazing hot open grill churns out hundreds of chimichurri-rubbed lamb chops, crispy chicken wings sprinkled with sumac, and spicy Merguez lamb-stuffed pitas every night until 3:30am. Forget settling for a late-night drive-thru and join the crowd. photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen Pause Unmute Food Rundown Loaded Hummus There’s so much spiced, crispy beef here you can barely see the silky hummus beneath. We like to dredge pretty much everything we order through this dish, from the lamb chops to the chicken wings. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Merguez Wrap Gourmandize smothers its lamb and beef merguez sausage with harissa then stuffs it into pita with fries and so much garlic aioli you’ll need to engage a hover-over-the-plate stance to avoid getting splashed. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Beef Kefta Taco This minced beef kefta is slid straight from a fiery hot kebab into a soft, handmade tortilla. Stuffed with avocado and served with a bright green chimichurri-turned-salsa, these tacos will make any early dinner or late-night meal extra spicy. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Chicken Wings Over Rice These may be the most beautiful chicken wings we’ve ever seen. The texture of the char, the deep golden skin, and the amount of herb flecks are equivalent to a Dutch masterwork of art. And they taste just as incredible, with a hint of sweetness and a hint of smoke. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Lamb Chops Over Rice We will dream of these lamb chops forever. Each is moist and tender, with just a hint of charcoal-grill char and chimmichurri. And while the chops are the star, the fluffy rice and crisp salad are just as delicious. No square millimeter of this dish should be left unconsumed. photo credit: Quit Nguyen - Chelsea Thomas
The Breakfast Klub
Breakfast restaurant · Midtown
The 12 Best Wings In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation
The Breakfast Klub in Midtown is a morning affair, and we’re so impressed with their chicken wings that we’d eat them at 8am with no waffle involved. They serve as the archetype for classic fried chicken wings—golden, firm crust, and generously seasoned chicken—with enough flavor to stand on their own. But we don’t mind having them alongside the fluffy waffles and dipping them in a little bit of the warm maple syrup that’s on tap. - gianni greene
