Known in real life for its British Empire Panels and its ornate, imposing concert hall, this Swansea municipal building was pushed into heavy duty for the film, where it was fully Americanised. Almost every corner of the space was used, providing the exterior of the police precinct, a corridor leading to the big ballroom, and the grand setting for Tom Hardy and Forest Whitaker’s first face-to-face meeting, with the director describing it as “so grand.” - Phil de Semlyen
