"Two long stretches of vibrant, large-scale murals line noise barriers along Ophir Road and Bali Lane, spanning nearly 240m and painted collectively by 17 Singapore-based artists. The 5-metre-tall panels—created for ongoing construction works—celebrate Kampong Gelam’s creative energy, with pieces ranging from Studio Moonchild’s multicultural, multifaceted child to the futuristic “Constant Elevation,” which reimagines local shophouse architecture and includes depictions of neighbourhood cats. On the Bali Lane side, a dazzling betta fish rendered in batik-inspired swirls stands out, and the entire project showcases the collaborative, ever-changing nature of the city’s street-art scene." - Alexis Ong
