"This carrier permits lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries up to 160 Wh onboard while warning that lithium batteries are more likely to ignite and produce more intense fires than alkaline cells. Devices using high-voltage batteries—such as powered wheelchairs and other mobility aids—are allowed provided the reservations department and airport check-in staff are given at least 48 hours’ notice. Loose lithium batteries (not installed in devices) are prohibited in checked baggage, and battery-powered transport devices like hoverboards and mini Segways are banned from both carry-on and checked baggage. Passengers are directed to the airline’s website and the Passenger Safety Information Card in the seat pocket for full rules, and are advised to follow safety practices: insert batteries with correct polarity, avoid covering a device’s charger while in use, prevent contact between batteries and metal or unpacked batteries to avoid short-circuits, disconnect chargers once devices are fully charged, keep devices dry and free of heavy objects, never leave lithium-ion batteries unattended while charging, and do not carry damaged or recalled batteries or equipment onboard." - SilverKris
