"Though it’s Gérardmer’s annual film festival that no doubt brought the Grand Hôtel & Spa to the notice of its most glamorous guests, this luxury hotel — and this lakeside Vosges town — has plenty to recommend it year-round. It’s more than a century old, but effortlessly displays elements from every era of its life; the garden restaurant is pure rustic 1890s, while the rooms and suites are contemporary, though still chalet-influenced.
