"This 17th-century house in the Jura village of Barretaine looks from the outside like a strict historical classic, but once you’re inside Maison Zugna you’ll see the liberties taken by owners Nicolas and Laurence. Modern colors and contemporary design furniture mix with antiques and period architecture. The accommodations are even more playfully modern, especially L’Observatoire, a distinctively cylindrical freestanding suite whose bedroom looks out through a vast curved picture window.
