"Here’s a fun fact about the Harbour Town Lighthouse: it’s not a lighthouse. In fact, it was built as a tourist attraction when Hilton Head Island became a vacation destination. Set on Sea Pines Plantation, the 93-foot lighthouse was built in 1969. While the late ‘60s is nothing compared to the generations-old Gullah culture dating back to the late 1600s, it’s still an interesting window into Hilton Head Island life 50 years ago. Climb the 110 stairs to the top of the lighthouse, where you’ll find a mini-museum, with old photos of a bygone vacation era." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Pirates of Hilton Head

Tourist attraction · Hilton Head Island

Pirates of Hilton Head offers the best pirate cruise for kids on Hilton Head Island. The action is non-stop as we transform the kids into our Pirate Crew. The adventure starts at the dock where each little mate gets to put on some pirate gear, gets a pirate tattoo and learns to talk like a pirate. Then we jump onboard our pirate ship cause we've got a map that leads to a sunken treasure chest, but Stinky Pete knows about it too and he stole the key. The race is on to find Stinky Pete, and get the key back before he can steal the treasure for himself. Once we find him our new Crew is going to have to man the water cannons, and blast the stink right off of Pete until he gives us the key! We always beat Stinky Pete and every little pirate always gets a handful of treasure. We celebrate the victory with a limbo then it's back to the dock. All told it's about an hour and a half of great fun for the kids. We look forward to having you aboard. This is one adventure they'll never forget
