"Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 1913-built hotel was created to serve visitors coming to drink the town’s mineral-rich waters; after fires and decades of closure it was restored and reopened in 2021. I found the rooms and suites modernized with enlarged layouts, some offering soaking tubs, full kitchens, living rooms, and downtown views, while shops occupy the first floor alongside the Crazy Water Coffee and Water Bar, Second Bar + Kitchen, and Rickhouse Brewing. The hotel honors its spa history: a Spa at The Crazy Water Hotel is slated to open in the original basement bathhouse in June 2026 and will use the town’s mineral waters for towel massages, bath soaks, facials, and oxygen treatments." - Amanda Ogle Amanda Ogle Amanda Ogle is a writer and editor who specializes in travel, food and drink, sustainability, and general lifestyle topics.
