The Best Pasta Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"The largest new restaurant inside the Original Farmers Market, this bastion of classic Italian food come from a co-owner of Osteria Mamma on Melrose and Ettore Winery in Mendocino. As expected, the menu starts with little wine-friendly bites like gnocco fritto and chicken panelle. Mid-course, there are nine or so pastas from which to choose, like traditional pappardelle bolognese, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, or ravioli with ricotta. The approach is very typical of Italy — unfussy, well-executed, and generous enough." - Matthew Kang

LA’s New Restaurant Openings

"If you want to take in the Original Farmers Market’s charm (and tourist mayhem) with a full-service sit-down meal, Ettore Vino e Cucina is your newest option. From the Osteria Mamma people, this northern Italian spot has a substantial antipasti menu with a daily fish crudo and chickpea fritters, plus a lineup of salads, pasta, and braised meat dishes. An Italian-style winery from NorCal is a partner in the project as well, so there’s also a long list of natural and organic wines to enjoy on their outdoor patio. We recently visited Ettore. Read our thoughts here." - sylvio martins

The 15 Best Restaurants At The Original Farmers Market At Third & Fairfax

"Ettore is a rare beast at the Farmers Market: a full-service sit-down restaurant with reservations and a back patio that looks out over Whole Foods. This upscale Italian spot from the Osteria Mamma people also pours a long list of organic and natural wines. Drinking a glass of orange pet-nat? Within earshot of The Grove? We’re into it. We’re also into Ettore’s food, like pink-hued red wine tagliatelle with mushrooms, juicy skewers of grilled octopus and sausage, and a boozy limoncello panna cotta. The renovated space feels suitably fresh for the historic market with cement floors, moody track lighting, and large wooden tables suitable for groups." - brant cox

This place is my new favorite Italian restaurant, and that's coming from a person who works at Italian restaurants for 13 years now. The food is just fantastic! Literally everything I've tried for my 4 times here in the past two weeks has been on point. They have a pretty decent wine selection, even though the wine list is short. You can find something for every taste. The staff is also very friendly. The place itself is super cute. It gives me Puglia vibes and it really stands out between the rest of the food stands around here since it has an ambiance of a real restaurant. However, the crown jewel is definitely the food. Congratulations to the chef who just nailed the menu from the opening day!

Wow the farmers market just added an incredible spot! I love to come here to walk around, see a movie at the grove and have dinner for a date. I don’t care for the food at any of the restaurants but NOW I do! This is perfect for a lunch date with friends or a romantic dinner before a movie. The food is fine dinning and the wine is divine. Highly recommend! This place has a beautiful atmosphere too. It is very rustic and elegant. I ate the tagliatelle which was delicious. It had a perfect blend of flavors. It is unique and a must try. I also had the ravioli with wild boar. Also so so good with High quality ravioli and meat. The salad Arancia e Quinoa was super light, fresh and full of flavor. Lastly, the chicken was also yummy. It is smaller in portion with perfectly roasted carrots. I could eat any of these dishes many times. If you like dessert, try the panne cotta and the torta caprese, I recommend both.

Lovely Italian bistro. The food was amazing. Service was attentive and unpretentious. The wine list is small, however the selection is well thought out. So nice...I went there twice in one week. Will definitely be back. Shout outs to: America - server Luciana - hostess Ernesto - server Monica - chef

Truly felt home! I am quite skeptic about getting italian food in us but Ettore was perfect. Also a plant based eater like me was really happy with traditional dishes like Panelle or Fave e rapini (a personal favorite!). Everyone had such a nice experience, will be back soon!

Ettore is the cutest spot in the farmers market! The outdoor patio is the best. Wine from Ettore winery is top notch and Italian food is highly curated. Carpaccio is a must try.

My husband & I have dined at Ettore 4 times since it has opened. We have ordered almost everything on the menu and with confidence I can say we loved everything we have had so far including their wine selection. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Chef Monica has created a mouthwatering selection for the menu . We have been recommending Ettore Osteria to our friends and family for their next choice of dining out . I highly recommend Ettore. Grab your phone and make a reservation now !!!!!

We came here for lunch based on a friend's recommendation. The interior is relatively decent for this location. The service is acceptable by Los Angeles standards. The main issue is the mediocre food at overpriced rates. For me, this is a one-time place—came, tried it, and wouldn’t come back. The one undeniable plus is the good wine.

Elegant modern Italian cuisine in a California style wine bar at The Grove. How lovely. The ever changing specials of the day along with some perfectly executed anchor dishes make it both reliable and interesting. Every dish from the soup of the day to the desserts are a thoughtful representation of classic techniques with a modern Mediterranean twist. Staff is exceptionally welcoming and have elevated each experience.
