"The chef and owner of Goosefoot spent a number of years as the man in charge of the kitchen at the upscale Les Nomades (see below) before he decided to go out on his own. A good way to think of Goosefoot is that the owner took the core values of everything he was doing at Les Nomades and freed himself from the stuffiness there. Like a peacock, he let himself fly. So while Goosefoot is still very elegant and sophisticated, there’s a bit of casual Ravenswood style, and more fun to be had here all around. The BYOB policy definitely helps. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

"This plate-glass façade may seem understated, but Goosefoot is truly distinct. Bright pops of orange and yellow add flair to the contemporary dining space, while the multicourse menu showcases classical technique and contemporary artistry.Begin with a bowl of creamy pumpkin soup with fresh bits of crab and pheasant sausage, then tuck in to a bowl of tortellini served in a brodo of parmesan, pecorino, and Burgundy truffles. A single diver scallop proves that one is not the loneliest number with a delicate sweetness courtesy of the lobster, coconut, and lemongrass-scented sauce. Finally, as if the vanilla bean Brazilian custard topped with Meyer lemon sauce and coconut foam didn't end things sweetly enough, the warm send-off from Chef Chris Nugent and his wife, Nina, certainly does." - Michelin Inspector

"Dishes here are intricate and take time to be described, which may explain the relatively slow pace of dining. The menu showcases classical edge and contemporary artistry. Begin with a bowl of creamy pumpkin soup, where fresh bits of crab and pheasant sausage add a gumbo-like quality and smoked paprika kicks it up. Keep the comfort food mood going with a bowl of tortellini served in a brodo of parmesan, pecorino, and Burgundy truffles. Finally, a single diver scallop proves that one is not the loneliest number with its delicate hint of sweetness courtesy of the lobster, coconut and lemongrass-scented sauce. Just when you think it couldn't possibly get any sweeter, the Goosefoot experience ends with handcrafted chocolates, a packet of seeds for your garden and a warm send-off from Nina Nugent and her husband, Chris." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Chef Chris Nugent and his wife, Nina, opened their attractive and intimate restaurant, Goosefoot, almost ten years ago. The restaurant was awarded One MICHELIN Star after just over one year of service. Here, the Nugents host a dinner party-style tasting experience featuring a menu of seasonal, artfully plated French-American fare." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Choosing a bottle to bring to this Michelin-starred tasting menu go-to has never been easier, thanks to its neighboring wine shop and some serious service. The team emails diners the wine list in advance of their reservations to ensure they can find them the perfect pairing for that night’s menu, and they’ll then have the selection chilled (if need be) and ready to go upon arrival. It’s just the beginning of a memorable meal from chef Chris Nugent, whose refined, French-inspired approach is revealed in a series of courses." - Jeffy Mai, Nicole Schnitzler
