Shmone's Nadav Greenberg: The Next Israeli Star Chef is Here

Pokémon Burger Bar Pops Up at Radegast in Williamsburg in NYC - Eater NY

"New Yorker editor Shauna Lyon visits chef Eyal Shani’s Tel Aviv import HaSalon in Hell’s Kitchen and finds quite the party. Around 10 p.m. on a Friday, she writes: “The d.j. played a catchy Israeli pop song, and servers flooded the aisles, clapping and hooting. People of all ages, dressed in their night-club best, jumped up, some onto chairs and tables, to dance.” The food displays the chef’s “devotion to technique” — a “tender” chunk of fire-roasted beef comes with a “delightfully sticky” crust — though at a steep cost. That meat dish costs $79, and another dish composed of chunks of tomatoes in olive oil is $24." - Carla Vianna

Absolutely phenomenal. Dining at HaSalon is not just a meal — it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm, attentive service that makes you feel like a VIP. The energy in the room is electric — a perfect fusion of Israeli beats, mainstream hits, and the magic of the Mediterranean. And the food? An absolute celebration of flavor. Every bite is a masterpiece, crafted with passion and precision. It’s indulgent, creative, and simply unforgettable. This is hands down the best restaurant in Israel — no contest. The vibe, the people, the music, the food — everything comes together to create the ultimate night out. It’s worth every single shekel, and then some. If you’re looking for the best way to spend a weekend in Tel Aviv (or anywhere in the country), HaSalon is it. Highly, highly recommended!

This might just be the most recommended place to visit in Tel Aviv – an absolute must! It's the perfect combination of delicious, high-quality Israeli food that surprises me every single time, and exceptional service. Combine that with the best atmosphere , dancing and so much joy – it's truly an unforgettable experience! I highly recommend booking in advance, as this place is always packed (and for good reason!)

Nice place, very good and fresh food, but expensive. Menu changes every day, but expect to pay at least 300-400 nis per person without alcohol. Servings are small, so we ordered 4 dishes for 2 people. We sat at the bar, watching the cooks and seeing the freshness of the ingredients (brought in daily). We were able to get these two bar seats without reservation, arriving at 7:20pm on a Wednesday. However, I recommend reserving upfront. The staff was really friendly.

We arrived at 6:00pm on a Thu and sat at the bar. There is no barman on the other side of the bar, but rather the kitchen itself. Right next to us was an assortment of fresh berries that the chefs used to make the dishes. We helped ourselves to some 🙂. We ordered 5 vegetarian dishes. The 1st three dishes arrived in less than 10 minutes. The 4th arrived an hour and a half later, and we canceled the last dish in favor of dessert. Nevertheless, waiting for the 4th dish was like watching a high quality restaurant movie. It was a delight to see the dishes as they were being constructed, and we were privy to the most intimate interactions between the kitchen workers. Some of the dishes were incredible (the gnocchi was amazing), while others were disappointing (e.g. the eggplant, which was served cold with bland tomato sauce; the waiter didn't charge us for that dish). In summary, the entire experience made the long wait, not only bearable, but worthwhile! P.S. The music, lighting and overall ambiance were just right.

Best restaurant of my life. Easily. Great atmosphere, best service ever and the single most amazing food I have ever eaten. No exaggeration. Eating here should be on everyone's bucket list. The food was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. It was life-altering. I had seven main-courses and several starters. The waiters couldn't believe it. It was like unlocking a second stomach that I didn't even know I had. I am a slim man, but I ate so much that I couldn't lay on my bed in the hotel that night - I had to lay on the floor to support my distended belly. It was incredible.

The pricing of this place is not just for the dishes. Its like buying a tickets to a dance club with very fresh and tasteful food. Yes it is by far the most expensive place in Israel. If you are not into paying minimum of 500 NIS per person, then go somewhere else.

What a great experience! We love the food, it was extraordinary. The staff member are very friendly an always for a little chat. One of the best restaurants in Tel Aviv, it is quite pricey tho. Not even the taxi driver knew that the restaurant was there, a real insider tip.
