San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"Rosemary & Pine in the Design District has moved around the corner and shifted its focus away from dinner to breakfast and lunch. This smaller version of the American restaurant from the team behind Dumpling Time and Niku Steakhouse has a menu of brunch classics like eggs benedict, brioche french toast, and a fried chicken sandwich with gochujang aioli that you can eat with your friends who like to dress up a bit for brunch. Design District Restaurant Rosemary and Pine Is Moving | Eater SF

"I'm relieved it isn't leaving the neighborhood: Rosemary and Pine is relocating to 55 Division Street (the former Dumpling Time Express), less than a five-minute walk from its original location at 1725 Alameda Street, and reopens Thursday, May 16. The casual restaurant from the group behind hits such as Dumpling Time and Michelin-starred Niku Steakhouse has shifted to a breakfast-and-lunch focus—open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends—and will carry over favorites like the eggs Benedict with Benton's country ham and shiso hollandaise and the buttermilk biscuit with sausage gravy. There are several new additions too, including soups, salads, and sandwiches such as stracciatella toast with balsamic and honey-roasted grapes and a fried chicken sandwich with furikake ranch coleslaw and gochujang aioli; coffee service is promised to be fast and friendly, and milk bread donuts will be available daily until 11 a.m. The new, slightly downsized space seats about 48 people, including 12 on the outdoor patio, and the restaurant's name nods to executive chef Dustin Falcon's Florida and New Jersey upbringing." - Lauren Saria

New Additions to MICHELIN Guide California March 2024

"Thoughtful cooking features top-notch ingredients, blending Chef Dustin Falcon’s fine dining training with Italian-American favorites from his childhood in New Jersey. Fried burrata with fra diavolo sauce and pistachio pesto is a lofty take on mozzarella sticks, and house-made pastas like paccheri alla vodka and pillowy honeynut squash agnolotti attest to the kitchen’s skill." - MICHELIN Guide

A Restaurant Dessert Trend Timeline | Eater

"A San Francisco restaurant that has explored savory-leaning sweets, exemplified by a sunchoke crème brûlée that tilts dessert toward earthy, vegetal flavors rather than pure sugar-forward finishes." - Jaya Saxena
