Urban Hill

We tried Urban Hill for dinner tonight for our anniversary. We had been for breakfast, which is delicious, but had been told dinner is where the real amazing food is. We could not have been more impressed! Our waiter, Indy, was perfectly attentive, personable, and willing to help us understand the menu and offer suggestions. We started with the calamari, oysters, and crudo, each of which were delicious. We also got the black cod and cannot rave about it enough! Perfectly balanced flavors and just cooked expertly. I also cannot say enough how much Indy made the experience rise above and beyond anything we expected. We will be back soon and trying more of the menu.

The atmosphere is nice. We enjoyed the din lighting. The sweet potato gnocchi was our favorite. The flavors are textures seemed to be very well thought out. The Asian sea bass was amazing..tender And full of flavor. My partner ordered the cheeseburger but it was underwhelming. It seemed to have too many things piled in it. It took from the flavor. But it is a big portion. The mocktails were pretty good. We were happy they offered that option. Our server, Jesse, seemed to be really busy. He forgot our bread, which was fine. He brought it over after I reminded him. But he took so long to come back with the check. We almost went up to the front to ask. He was nice and knowledgeable. Last thing is that the parking was tough. The parking garage is so confusing and you also can't go back the way you came. You have to walk out to the garage car entrance and walk down and find your car that way. It's also expensive, so be sure and remember a validation. Which we did not remember. Overall this is a great place.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Urban Hill Finite Dining while celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the team truly curated the entire experience and made us feel incredibly special. Every single person who interacted with us knew it was our anniversary, and that level of thoughtfulness made the evening unforgettable. Ty, our host, warmly welcomed us and ensured we were seated at our table promptly. Our first server, Dan, was phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. When we mentioned that the lighting at our original table was a bit too bright, the team immediately accommodated us and moved us to a cozier table without hesitation. That small but meaningful gesture made such a difference. From there, Jessica, Katie, and the rest of the team took exceptional care of us. The service was seamless, warm, and intentional, we truly felt celebrated and cared for throughout the night. As for the food… absolutely outstanding. For starters, we tried the potato gnocchi and the Beat Bobby Flay winning dish. The potato gnocchi completely stole the show. My husband is not a sweet potato fan at all, yet he couldn’t stop raving about it. We were so impressed, and it was easily one of the stars of the night. For entrées, we enjoyed the Golden Eagle black cod and the strozzapreti pasta, and both were phenomenal. Every bite was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully executed. On the side, we ordered the skillet rolls and the carrots, both were incredible and paired perfectly with our meal. We also tried several cocktails, and out of all of them, we strongly recommend the Magic Bullet: it was our absolute favorite and a standout drink of the night. Dessert was the perfect ending: the toffee pudding was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. To top it all off, the team surprised us with an additional complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary, which was such a kind and memorable touch. Every single dish and drink we tried was amazing, truly no misses at all. Urban Hill is an absolute must-go in Salt Lake City. We are so grateful for the care, service, and incredible food, and we honestly cannot wait to return. Highly, highly recommended, an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. 💛🍽️✨

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and loved it! The food was amazing, the service was top notch, and the vibe was very classy. They took great care of us and helped us celebrate with a personalized menu, and a dessert and Polaroid picture at the end of our evening. We ordered some great vegetarian items. The sweet potato gnocchi appetizer, the fire-roasted maitake mushroom entree, and roasted brussel sprouts were all delicious. We will definitely be back!

Urban Hill absolutely delivered from start to finish. My wild boar ribs were off the charts—tender, flavorful, and the kind of dish you keep talking about on the way home. My wife’s seabass was just as impressive: perfectly cooked, light, and seriously delicious. Dessert sealed the deal. The ice cream trio (vanilla, chocolate, and maple) was a fun finish, and that key lime pie was surprisingly amazing—bright, smooth, and the perfect sweet-tart bite. But the real kicker? The customer service. Our waiter was incredible—attentive without hovering, friendly, and made the whole night feel easy and special. Urban Hill is a must, and we’ll definitely be back. Urban Hill was a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service. We tried quite a few things, and they were good. A few things were a bit off. The pave was sliced quite thickly. The cabbage was good. It could have used another ten minutes in the fire I think. The beet salad was a little underwhelming. The black cod was amazing, and the carrots were my favorite thing all night.

First time dining at Urban Hill and my mouth is still salivating. Eating here was the most romantic experience my taste buds have ever experienced in my life. The crudo appetizer and the cod melted into every crevice of my mouth with such sensuality I began to question if I’ve ever eaten for pleasure before or if every other meal prior was just for sustenance only. The craft at Urban Hill is edible art that will sweep you off your feet and teach you how to love yourself again. The team at Urban Hill, namely Mitzi, Cameron, Bryce, and Yusif curated a birthday dining experience for my mom and I that I will never forget. Knowledgeable, friendly, and graceful. I’m left wondering how they catered to every need, want, and desire while at the same time blending into the background as to not disrupt my dining experience. The only explanation is they had some sort of oracle foreseeing every single possible timeline allowing them to meticulously anticipate my every need. 10/10, just shut up and give them your money. Order the crudo and the cod, you won’t regret it.

This place was absolutely stellar. We came for a business celebration and I was impressed across the board. I started with a Caesar salad, had a perfectly cooked steak, and finished with the sticky toffee, which alone deserves its own round of applause. A couple of Xs and Os were welcomed with open arms. Despite having a group of around 30, the service was fast, smooth, and efficient. No one was left wondering where their food went. The low lighting, cozy meeting space, and fireplace made it feel polished but comfortable. A place that means business but knows how to have a good time. I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu

Urban Hill in Salt Lake City is a great spot if you're looking for a more upscale dining experience. The atmosphere is beautiful and modern, and the menu feels thoughtful and well curated. The food is high quality and beautifully presented, with flavors that mostly hit. Service was professional and attentive, though the pacing can feel a little slow at times, which is the only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five. Overall, it's a really solid restaurant and a nice choice for a special occasion or a polished night out. Everything we ordered was tasty and the dirty martinis were great!

An incredible experience celebrating our anniversary at Urban Hill. First, upon making a reservation, and noting what we were celebrating, the restaurant reached out to ask my husband's name. We were awarded with personal menus inscribed with our names. Our server, I believe his name was James, was immediately attentive to my tree nut allergy. While many menu items had tree nuts, the kitchen was willing to accommodate as much as possible, through omission or substitution, which I appreciated deeply. We started with a round of cocktails, which were both spirit forward and complex. I'd love to branch out and try more. We mainly focused on starters. We ordered the pork cheek, crab ravioli, sweet potato gnocchi, and the lump crab chile relleno. Everything was incredible, with now low notes to be had. For a main and side we split the Schnitzel and the French Onion Soup. Also incredible. We can't wait to come back regularly as the seasonal menu rotates. And, of course, the dining room is elegant and upscale. It wasn't too loud to have a conversation, even with how packed the dining room was on a Saturday night. As a final note, if you celebrate with them, they give you a complimentary chocolate mousse with raspberries and cream, which is delicious, light it up with a sparkler, and give you a Polaroid keepsake. The little touches go a long way!

Arguably the best restaurant I have eaten at in Utah. We were just passing through SLC on a Tuesday and didn't think we would need a reservation. The hostess told us it would be 20-30 minutes for a table unless we wanted to opt for the bar. We gladly accepted. The restaurant has an industrial, high ceiling, open format feel to it. The wine cellar is in a glass walled room in the center of the restaurant. Pretty cool to look at. They have a wide selection of spirits. I noticed some fine single malt scotches on the shelf. But I opted for an Old Fashioned with Blantons. We started with the Crudo Appetizer. I was so focused on how good it looked, we ate it before I could get a pic. But trust me, it was awesome. The jalapeño on top gives it just enough heat without losing the amazing flavors. Then we had the Grilled Cesar with Anchovies. It was amazing! It is a quarter of a head of Romaine, grilled and covered with Cesar dressing, Parmesan cheese, Anchovies, and Croutons. (See pic) Then I ordered the Bison Ribeye. I ordered it cooked Medium-Rare. It came out Raw and I had to send it back, but to the kitchen's credit, they fixed it promptly and NAILED IT! It was so good with the Mole. I would order another if I had room. My wife had the Chile Relleno and it came out amazing. The crab was so flavorful. It has new mexico red chile, black bean purée, pickled onion & chile, crema, cilantro. Definitely coming back on the next time through. Need a reservation next time. Cheers!

WOW, what an fantastic experience. One of the best meals I've ever had. Everything from start to finish was amazing from the service, the hosts, the food, to the ambiance. Top notch. Even the bathroom is fancy! Went for our friends birthday and they put her name on the menu. How special! Daniel our server knew the menu in and out, took time to go over items with us and made excellent suggestions. We started with cocktails although I don't recall the names. Daniel said if you don't like it we can bring you something new. Both were great. For starters we had the crispy pork belly, which in the past elsewhere has been mostly fat so I wasn't a fan. This was meaty and perfect. The grilled mushroom so good, could have eaten a second tray. The burrata toast good (but weakest of the bunch because they were amazing). The roasted chicken entree was so tender and flavorful. Friends had the fish, and burger and were super happy (that burger looked great). For dessert we had the baked alaska (torched at the table) which was out of this world. We also had mousse with ice cream. This is a must try spot in SLC. I was never able to get in before, make reservations far enough in advance. Also make sure to go to the bathroom so you can pass the open kitchen and see all the amazing chefs at work. It is quite a scene!

A beautiful restaurant, great service, and very innovative dishes. Rinne was our server and she was so attentive! Our waters were never empty, and she constantly checked up on us. I thought pricing was reasonable but maybe cause I'm from LA, I'm not sure how it compares for locals. DO GET THE CRUDO!! Best dish by far! Amazing flavor. We also got the beet salad, burrata, pork cheek, lamb chop, the beat boy flay, and for dessert the sticky toffee pudding. I would skip the pork cheek but everything else was great. I would come back here!

The short and sweet: This is the kind of place where you go to feel fancy for the night. With good food and a price tag that makes you say goodbye to your tax return. The real meat of the review: Welcome to your downtown Salt Lake fine dining experience, where you'll spend $60 a meal for dishes that please your eyes a little more than your stomach(sorry I felt the need to say something funny). Urban hill does give a great aesthetic to the dining experience, it feels as if I am in one of those rich finance bro's apartments that you see in romcoms. Where the lighting is low, the dishes are plated with great flair, the bar looks a lot better than it should, and you feel that in a blink of an eye you'll wake up in bed with the coworker you thought you hated. That's to say that the food was great, and I quite enjoyed my tomahawk pork chop. The pineapple added a unique flavor to an already great dish. As for the sides, I didn't really care for them as much (although the fact that they were gone by the end of the night may say otherwise). The service was nothing to write home about, it wasn't bad by any means but I would not recommend this place by service alone. The dessert was actually the most unique and fun part of the dining experience, as it was on fire for a few minutes. It actually ended up being quite tasty and I would probably have eaten it alone if not for the large pork chop that I had eaten earlier. All in all this is another overly expensive restaurant that while great, doesn't offer food that is miles better than other restaurants. It was fun and had a great environment but a $60 price tag feels eager. 3.75/5

Had an awesome Christmas Eve dinner with family and friends. Highlights were the Dover sole and prime rib entrees. The Sole was cooked perfectly with sublime buttery flavors that melted in your mouth. The prime rib entrees were paired with creamy potatoes and brussel sprouts. We paired the meal with our own favorite wines from Top in Paso Robles. We had a dry rose and an intense Syrah (2018 vintages). Love their wine service for $25 corkage per bottle. I have some photos showing our entrees and wine attached. Desert was delicious especially our favorite baked Alaska and the affogato. Make sure you get a chance to dine at Urban Hill when you are in Salt Lake. Merry Christmas!

Urban Hill delivers both style and service. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt elevated, and the team truly went out of their way to make my birthday feel special including a personalized menu, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. They also provided a lovely birthday treat and a Polaroid photo (some of the best service I've received). We ordered a variety of dishes and cocktails. Drinks were excellent: a well-balanced Old Fashioned and a smooth Lemon Drop that wasn't overly sweet. Food-wise, the sea bass and the crab-stuffed chile relleno were the standouts both beautifully prepared, rich in flavor, and easily my favorites of the night. The bison steak was cooked well, though the accompanying side dishes felt a bit unusual and didn't fully complement the protein. The lamb chops were flavorful but slightly tough, which kept them from being a highlight. That said, the ambiance is stunning, the service is attentive and polished, and the overall experience felt special and intentional. Urban Hill is a beautiful spot for celebrations and a place I'd happily return to.

Amazing service, good and atmosphere at the Urban hill! I ordered the filet mignon, salad and dessert. Totally forgot to take a photo of the steak yet it was fabulous! I sat at the bar and this place was hopping on a Wednesday night. Bartender said it was slow yet their slow is other folks busy. Great vibe, excellent staff, fabulous foods. I'll be back!

This place lived up to the reviews and community chatter. Without a reservation, I was able to walk right in on a Friday at peak dinner hours and find a cozy spot at the bar. Bartenders and staff were more than attentive and eager to make recommendations. We had the chicken schnitzel and maitake mushrooms (add chicken) entrees, so so good. Unique dishes with great portions and flavor. Cocktails were also 10/10. Will be going back!

My remarkable, extraordinary partner surprised me by bringing me here for a re-Valentine's Day date. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. I could tell it was very high-end and classy. For drinks, we ordered the Bolo 'Tai and some tasty wine. For appetizers, we ordered the half-dozen oysters and ceviche. As a hardcore lover of oysters, I was very impressed and satisfied with their oysters. For entrées, we ordered the golden eagle black cod, iberian "tomahawk" pork chop, and lump crab chile relleno. Each of these dishes were cooked to perfection. The pork chop was very juicy and full of flavor. The black cod was very tender and melted in our mouths. The chili relleno was spectacular. For dessert, we ordered the baked alaska, which immediately became my absolute favorite. It was truly the most delicious dessert I have ever had in my life. I just couldn't get enough. Overall, every single thing we ordered was just phenomenal. No complaints at all, whatsoever. Shoutout to our server, Adam, who was very kind and helpful. His recommendations were all great and very much appreciated. I'm looking forward to coming back here in the future with my partner.

It starts with a warm greeting from the hostess. We had requested a certain type table on our reservation and she accommodated us without even asking. That tells you a lot right there. We enjoyed the very cool modern ambience, but it is pretty loud. Service by Courtney was exceptional. We really enjoyed her personality and she was so helpful for our first visit. The food was outstanding in general. The Iberian Tomahawk pork chop was a bit dry and tough. I wouldn't order it again. But that was the only food aspect that wasn't exceptional. The lamb porterhouse chops were delicious and the beat Bobby Flay chili Reno was fantastic! For dessert, we took Courtney's recommendation and try the sticky toffee pudding with rum raisin ice cream. What a great ending to a wonderful dining experience.

A great place for dinner. It's a very nice atmosphere and vibe. The appetizers were different than what I expected and really good. We had grilled calamari which was nicely plated and very good. The main courses were good, filling and not overcooked. They have some interesting drinks, one person got a small cup of blue liquid with a flower on top (which I am sure cost $16 despite only being a few ounces of liquid). There wine list is massive. I got a hard cider (Txopinondo Sagarnoa, I think), that wasn't very good. Give me a JK Scrumpies instead. The desert were on point (sticky toffee pudding) and one of them was on fire. Be prepared to drop $$$ The place is a little hard to find if you are not from the area.

The best meal we had while visiting SLC! We made a reservation just a day before for 2. Though it was less than a mile from our hotel, we drove and the parking was easy (they validate!). The decor is beautiful and we enjoyed every dish we ordered.

I loved our experience here. Its giving NYC in SLC. we made reservations for a birthday celebration and they had custom printed menus with the birthday person's name on it. You also get a free dessert & polaroid picture. The food was absolutely divine, everything tasted so fresh, well seasoned and worth the price. I truly loved everything i ate and cant wait to come back for another special occasion!

Talk about an incredible dinning experience! Visited Salt Lake City for the first time and heard great things about this establishment. The ambience, the service and the food are one of a kind chef Kevin Zocco has an incredible menu. We tried so many things all of it was amazing!

We had a good friend share his recommendation to come here for my Birthday and boy were we glad we listened. Urban Hill brings an elevated experience and quality cuisine to SLC. Our server, Taylor, was so wonderful and accommodating. Top notch service! He shared some off menu items which included foi gras that was perfectly cooked on a tomahawk steak. My wife ordered a pasta dish. For sides, you need to try their skillet rolls, chile rellano and the Mac and cheese. Amazing establishment! Perfect for special occasions.

Pros: - cool Ambience - service was top notch - food looked appetizing - ingredients were fresh Cons: - Chairs were super uncomfortable - food was extremely sauce heavy - the flavors were super strong I felt like getting punched on every drink/ dish Overall I think this is a cool spot and dished were interesting, but I do think if the flavors were toned down a bit (and less saucy) the overall experience would be better. For example, the steak tartar was delicious but the mustard seeds covering on top was much too strong. The same goes for the sauce on the black cod and the sea bass. Like I want to taste the fish (and the fish does taste good) but the sauce overpowered the entire dish. The rolls and the lamp chop was perfect though! And I really loved the keylime pie and ube flan. The sweetness was just right. Overall I would probably want to give it another try knowing that the style of dishes probably just doesn't do it for me.

We stood there for about 5 minutes before anyone even came to talk to us. A server "checked us in" but then the hostess came over and seemed confused, wasn't super friendly, and then eventually sat us at the bar. Once we were seated, the service was great -- as it always is. Super awesome wait staff that are always friendly and attentive. All of the food I've tired from there has been really good -- never disappointed. Huge wine list, good beer selection, and good, unique cocktail selection. Definitely recommend making a reservation when you go here.

We went here after leaving a chaotic and overcrowded Yelp Elite event at Sunday's Best next door. We were so excited to get a nice spot at the bar with no reservation considering this place was hoppin' on a Tuesday night. We were just here a few weeks ago for our anniversary, and this experience was even better. We started with a few appetizers--the crudo, skillet rolls, and grilled mushrooms. The crudo blew me away and was one of the best appetizers I've ever had--an amazing flavor-packed bite. For drinks, we enjoyed the Arborist, Persephone, Mr. Worldwide, and Pearly Dew Drops. All were beautifully crafted and delicious. For the entree, we shared the iberian "tomahawk" pork chop, which was the best chop I've ever had. Our waitress, Gabi, did an amazing job taking care of us and explaining the menu. The meal cost about $235 with tip and we left full and happy with no leftovers. It wasn't our original plan for the night but I'm glad we pivoted.

We love Park City's local Hearth & Hill and Hill's Kitchen, so we wanted to visit their sister restaurant in Salt Lake City - Urban Hill. The whole menu looked so good! Right now we're not drinking alcohol in preparation for our marathon, and tomorrow we both have long runs so we didn't want heavy proteins. We'll be back when we can try some of the other items we had our eyes on! The kitchen sent out a beet-mint-watermelon amuse bouche. We started with the gnocchi and burrata. For mains we got the bass (for him), the beet salad (for me), and cucumbers to share. Then a special surprise chocolate torte for our anniversary; you know I paired that with a tea! For a more casual dining experience, this is the best service I've had in a long time at a restaurant. The floor worked as a team though we did have a main server. I felt like we had a team making sure this was the night of our lives and you know what??? That made it super magical like they were hosting us in their home not hoping to feed us and earn a tip to turn the table over to another party. If management is reading this - Whatever Urban Hill is doing to have your team gel and work as a team; it's working! I like giving good reviews, but this one is great! 6 stars!!!

Loved Urban Hill!!! Great spot, fun vibe, amazing food and exceptional service. What more do you want? And the prices weren't bad either. IT was a weekend and too late for me to get a reservation so we sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing! So friendly even entertaining. Wish I'd caught his name. We started with the skillet rolls, so tasty with a little salt! 5/5 Caputo's burrata toast. 5/5 Bison Ribeye, Amazing flavor with fermented chili. 5/5 My wife ordered the pork dish, tenderized and breaded, great flavor! 5/5 Fun spot on the higher end but not overly expensive. We will be coming back!

FINALLY got to go here for my friends birthday. Cutest thing they put her name on the menu and took a poloroid of us afterwards. Our server was the nicest server I've ever had and completely understood us. We tried oysters for the first time and they were YUMMY , I got the cucumber salad. We each got drinks and the dirty martini was amazing. For dinner we got the pasta, burger, and chicken. The chicken seemed a little dry, the pasta was spicy but very flavorful, and the burger was 10/10. I am a sandwich person and so far Franklin Ave has been my top burger restaurant but I think this one beat it. And the fries came with a hollandaise sauce (?) was SO good. Need to come back here, definitely anniversary style.

We are always down to try something new, being in Utah my whole life it seems we've almost tried it all. I found urban hills as my husband wanted American cuisine for his Father's Day dinner! At first when we were seated by the host, we were seated by what it seemed like a big group party around us and it was hard for the waiter to greet us and we could barely hear. I asked if there was seating on the other side of the restaurant and they were able to accommodate us. We started off with oysters from west and east coast and the crudo. We were not informed which oysters were from west and east but oh well. Both appetizers were delicious. We ordered the lamb, and the sea bass. The lamb was cooked to chef's temperature, and as I kept eating my lamb was getting more raw so sadly I didn't finish that part. The balsamic glaze and risotto with the dish was good though. My husbands sea bass sadly had burnt skin as you can see in the picture which was pretty disappointing, and lacked flavor. He liked the risotto more than the star of the dish itself. Fries were fresh and delicious, French onion soup was also good. Mac and cheese I feel can definitely use a bit more flavor. Great place for date night but I feel like there could be some improvements on the food itself.

Brunch at Urban Hill: A Stylish Experience with Stellar Food Walking into Urban Hill is impressive -- the space is incredibly stylish, with an eye-catching wine room and distinct sections throughout the restaurant, each offering a beautiful aesthetic and warm atmosphere. Even the counter seating looked inviting. We came for brunch and had made a reservation (which was a good call -- there was definitely a wait). We were seated in a random back room corner table -- more on that later -- but we were warmly greeted by our server, who was absolutely lovely. She was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We started with Bloody Marys, opting to add the little tiger shrimp for a small extra charge -- totally worth it. The shrimp added a great depth of flavor that really came through in the drink. Next up: a half-dozen oysters. Being big oyster fans, we were thrilled -- they were shucked perfectly, not too salty, and paired beautifully with a cucumber-yuzu mignonette that enhanced their natural brininess without overpowering them. For entrées, we shared the Creekstone Farms brisket hash -- a wonderful surprise packed with flavor, topped with over-easy eggs whose soft yolk added richness to every bite. We will definitely be ordering this again when we come back for brunch. My other half had the Croque Madame -- something I had never heard of before, but it was amazing. The dish featured toast layered with prosciutto and Gruyère cheese, topped with a sunny-side-up egg. The yolk from the egg was perfect for dipping the rustic seasoned potatoes and pulling in a bit of melty cheese, making each bite absolutely incredible. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert when we saw Key Lime Pie on the menu. It was massive -- the slice was huge! Our server thoughtfully brought two side plates and two forks before it even arrived, which we didn't understand at first -- but once we saw the slice, we realized why. It was the perfect way to portion it out without totally stuffing ourselves. We closed out with smiles -- it was an overall lovely experience. The only thing I'd change for next time: I'll request seating in the main dining room instead of the back corner. While the back room was fine, it lacked the gorgeous vibe and lively energy of the main space (plus it mainly looked out onto a driveway). But now we know for next time! Strictly food and service? Five stars all the way. Urban Hill is a brunch spot we'll absolutely be returning to.

Great spot, loved the decor and vibe. Celebrated a birthday and along with the reservation, they made a custom "Happy Birthday" menu for us, no extra charge. We had ordered food to share, 2 drinks and a glass of wine for exactly $100+tip, not bad. We had the Crudo which was like a savechi. Then a Cesar salad, cheeseburger, fries, and Mac & cheese. The Cesar was good, the lettuce is grilled and warm, and I personally like cold crunchy lettuce. The burger was amazing, it's a smashed burger with all the toppings. The bun was loose and it got a little messy, but well worth it. The Mac & cheese was spicy and crunchy. The service was great, the staff is pretty hipster, friendly, seems like a pretty liberal spot and area. I'm sure we'll go back again.

Absolutely loved dining at Urban Hill. It offers an upscale and lively atmosphere combined with an inventive menu and top quality service.

Came here for a celebratory dinner with a pre fixe meal - for $150 (including 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 drink and tip). Comparing to Michelin Star places that also offer the same pricing with more courses and shorter waiting times in between dishes, I expected a little more from here. The staff were super friendly though, and the overall environment was nice. It's great for big groups and it's super spacious. The drinks menu was definitely a highlight.

Beautiful experience in SLC if you're looking for something that's quite perfect for really any and all occasions from a date night, celebrations, corporate dinners, this place has it all and is great for it all. The food is quite on point which I feel like is hard to come by these days even in SLC, to no one's fault, just difficult to find very good places that have all their food, ambiance, operations and everything else all on point, it's rare. Urban Hill was a breath of fresh air. My husband and I grabbed dinner after I landed at the airport, we enjoyed the bass, lamb, two cocktails, and the ube crème brûlée. The restaurant was full at 9 pm on a Wednesday night but everything from the staff, food, service was on point. Every dish was excellent, unique, beautifully presented, and made of quality. Our waiter was Jordan and he was probably one of the best servers we've ever had, detail oriented, gave sound recommendations, checked in at all the right times, let us mull over the menu with ample time, super helpful and kind and we just adored him. The team here was outstanding. Overall it gave me hope that we can still attract some really great places in SLC and we will certainly be back, this will definitely be somewhere I consider to being out-of-state visitors and host corporate dinners.

Stunning as always. The chicken schnitzel was an amazing addition! The sauce was wonderful. Steak special was delicious as well. I absolutely love the vibes of this beautiful restaurant. Every time we come we are absolutely blown away by the exceptional service and the absolute BEST food in Salt Lake City!

Came on a Friday night! Love the area and the ambiance of the restaurant. The hostess was very sweet and friendly. We got seated at our table. Only downfall to the restaurant is the space and how the open kitchen is right dabbed in the center of everything and you can smell the food cooking, especially bacon. Not a smell I like. The waitress was great and definitely friendly! Food came out pretty fast which was great. We ordered a few dishes to share as I think are pretty good portions and great portion to share to try it all!! All tasted delicious! And if it's your bday, they do a little something special! Would definitely recommend and be returning.

Great experience from beginning to end. Cocktails and wine selections very good, and our table shared the harissa carrots, skillet rolls, and tomato salad appetizers - each very tasty. Two of us had the striped cod and two had the striped bass and everyone's plates were empty! Delicious. Our waiter was helpful with selections too, but not pushy at all. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and a special chocolate dish they had for special occasions!

The Asian sea bass meal was incredible. Super cool vibes and great cocktails as well. Perfect for a birthday dinner!

Was hoping for more. My wife and I have been very excited to come here for a long time because we've heard great things, but we were let down by the food. We started with a half-dozen oysters, which tasted incredible, but half of them were so tiny, I can't believe they served them. Then we tried the grilled caesar salad and mushroom appetizer. They actually cook the lettuce leaves to create a smoky flavor, but it isn't worth the soggy, warm leaves that come as a result. The dressing was decent, but too salty. The mushrooms, however, were unreal-- definitely the highlight of the meal for us. For entree's, my wife ordered the striped bass and I went with the bison ribeye. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. The steak was cooked perfectly, but I was not a fan of the mole negro that it came with because it overpowered the dish. Plus, the other items on the plate didn't contribute anything substantial. For $70, every element on the plate should be independently delicious and in balance with one another. I can't say that was the case here. My wife's striped bass was pretty good, but we didn't love the seasoning. The rice it was served on was great. We also shared a side of Brussel's sprouts, which weren't bad, but didn't impress either of us. My dirty martini was solid, but the olives in the glass were bland and tasted old. My wife's espresso martini was very good. We were happy with the service and the ambiance. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, which helped redeem some of the flaws in the food. Overall, we had a really nice time here, but won't be itching to come back any time soon. For just under $300, we left feeling underwhelmed given our high expectations.

ok this one's been on my bucket list for a while and the brunch didn't disappoint. the beet salad was more whatever but that's probably due to the fact that i got a salad. lol get the cinnamon roll!

We had heard Urban Hill was good but were even more surprised once we finally got the chance to visit! The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, great for a date night or business dinner. I started with the skillet rolls, which were salty and perfectly warmed. For the main course, we chose the lamb bourguignon and pork Milanese. The lamb was fall apart tender and infused with deep, velvety flavors from the red wine reduction. I loved the elevated take on this comfort dish. The pork Milanese was good also. Cooked well and we really liked the citrus flavors. Outside of the food, service was attentive. Parking was very limited, there were spots at the garage next door, but all except one were taken.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious cocktails and decadent entrees. We went for a business meal and it was an excellent choice: quiet table for our conversations, something for everyone and the overall service was good. Highly recommend.

Little pricey but a delightful experience. Nose level was great for having a conversation. The potatoes at brunch were delicious and reminded me of how my dad used to make them.

The food and ambience were fantastic! Get the cod, have the wine and definitely have that chocolate hazelnut cake! Perfect service and a great overall vibe! I can't wait to go back!

We were so impressed with every single thing at Urban Hills! We dined there tonight with our 9 year old and everything was incredible. The French Onion Soup was so flavorful, and the shrimp cocktail was super fresh. My husband loved Chef Nick's specialty chile rellenos that he beat Bobby Flay with, and I did too! It is such a perfect blend of flavors that comes together beautifully! The filet was truly the best I've ever had. It was so tender, grilled to perfection, and had zero fat. My daughter loved her grilled cheese :) and we thought it so buttery and delicious too! The sticky toffee dessert was melt in your mouth ahhhmazing, the key lime pie was the BEST, and we also loved the ice cream trio! I highly recommend Urban Hills to anyone and everyone! The menu has something for everyone, and we loved the ambiance there! Chef Nick truly creates masterpieces and mingles flavors perfectly. The service was impeccable and everyone we interacted with was so genuinely sweet. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

I have to update my review- we did not have a great dinner like I expected during our last visit! I was shocked by how underwhelming the crab ravioli was and did not enjoy my bass! I get that it is prepared blackened- but I basically picked most of the actual burned top off the $40 dish with a frown. The description does not tout blackened. We also got the banana cream pie and it was either not the same as when we were here before or it was simply forgettable. I tried the smoked beet salad and was glad I didn't order it- way too smoky. The star was the key lime pie. Huge portion that could be shared by 4 and it was a delicious bite. I hate to say it but I am not sure I will be back! I want to make sure that a good restaurant is consistently delivering delicious bites no matter what is ordered.

Great meal last night. Crispy Pork Belly was amazing and a generous portion. Followed up with Fire Roasted Maitaki Mushrooms and a glass of Nebbiolo. Rye Boulevardier (a Negoni with whiskey) for a night cap. All delicious. Friendly yet prompt and professional service. Chatted with sommelier Katie about the awesome wine program. Beautiful space. Wil be back next time in SLC.

Excellent sweet and rich brunch, savory items are decent. The decor and vibes are fantastic, just a great ambiance overall. Loved the bread pudding and blue corn crepes, just really dig the out of box flavors and mix of ingredients, especially berries and cinnamon! The French dip was okay, I expected more seasoning as well as the eggs benedict, just solid, but I have definitely had better. Potatoes were pretty burnt so we set it aside, a waitress who wasn't ours walked by towards the end of our meal and offered new ones, which were much better! Overall, I would probably give them another try.

We were very excited to try this place. Service was amazing, very friendly and little details added made our anniversary very special. Restaurant itself was beautiful. Unfortunately the food did not, it is a pricey place so your expectations are higher too. We got the New York Strip what was special for that night, it was 100$. It was very disappointing, so was the buffalo, very chewy. Cocktails were not the greatest. Service was 5 stars, food was 2.

Just like Mary Poppins, Urban Hill is "practically perfect in every way." Dining here is more than a meal, it's an experience. I was treated to an evening out to celebrate my birthday, and every little detail was considered. Our reservation noted the birthday, along with a food allergy. When we were seated, I was delighted to see a special menu with "happy birthday Nycole" printed on the top-it's those little things that really are the big things. Our server greeted us and acknowledged the food allergy and offered suggestions on the menu of things that would be safe. Throughout the evening, service was impeccable. I felt like I was a VIP guest (however, I'm sure that everyone is treated equally well). The food was absolutely astounding. Executive Chef Nick Zocco, a James Beard award finalist, proved just why he's received such accolades. The dishes were amazing, with complex flavors and gorgeous presentations. The cocktails and mocktails were also delicious. Our server recommended a digestif which was also amazing. We took a picture of the bottle so we could remember it for next time. To top off the evening, they brought me a lovely chocolate dessert and took a polaroid picture of us and presented it back in a little paper frame. I'm not sure what could have made the night better-it was truly remarkable.

Cool spot! The dinner entrees we got were extremely tasty and presentation looked great. My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. We ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer along with our dinner entrees. The one that stood out the most to me for food was the sable fish. My husband's pork tenderloin was also quite good. The appetizer (calamari) was nothing special and the cocktails seemed to be filled to the brim with ice. Make sure you make a reservation as that seemed necessary even though there were empty tables. They spaced out the parties in a good healthy way so it wasn't too noisy. It is also nice that they validate for parking in the garage next door. Pretty easy to find and park and even easier to get out. Just need to remember to ask for validation. Service was mediocre and is ultimately why there is a reduction in stars. I would have thought it'd be better given the type of restaurant and cost but we were seated and the hostess mentioned a waitress's name would be with us soon. It took about 40 minutes and then finally a lot of looks at the staff, one of the managers came over to start a cocktail order. It looks like there was some confusion on who would be our waiter since the original name was not who we ultimately ended up with. Needless to say, after that got sorted, our new waiter Dawson was super attentive and friendly. He even gave us complimentary desserts (chocolate ganache and ice cream trio) which were delicious. I wish I had taken more photos of the food but by then I was starving. The presentation of the food was excellent.
