The 23 Best Restaurants In Phoenix 2024

"This vibrant cafe is among the palm trees and bungalows in, yes, Phoenix’s Coronado neighborhood, and sells plant-based treats. A roster of baked goods like rose cookie sandwiches and mesquite snickerdoodles pack the pastry case, and are the warm-up to bigger plates like short stack buttermilk pancakes (made with vegan butter) dripping with maple syrup. We obsess over the savory fried potato tacos and almost always grab a lavender chocolate chip cookie on our way out." - lauren topor

Phoenix’s Best Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants | Eater Phoenix

"The Coronado has made vegan dining cool with its funky, laidback atmosphere and forward-thinking menu that doesn’t have to rely on meat alternatives to be tasty. Case in point: its fried guacamole topped with a spicy sauce and cilantro-lime dressing. The masa-battered, fried cauliflower tacos, beet and quinoa burger with poblano corn relish and jalapeno marmalade, and the cashew chevre quesadilla are also must-try items. Plus, you can pair any of these dishes with a local beer, bottle of wine, or a cocktail. For a morning meal, don’t forget to check out the tofu-packed breakfast burrito." - McConnell Quinn

The 38 Essential Restaurants in Phoenix

"Housed in the former Tuck Shop space in the heart of the historic Coronado neighborhood, this comfy vegan restaurant offers locally brewed beer and coffee, garden-to-glass cocktails, and dishes with Mexican and Southwestern influences. Consider masa-battered and fried cauliflower tacos, black coffee chili and cornbread, or a beet and quinoa burger topped with poblano corn relish and crispy fried onions." - Nikki Buchanan, Chris Malloy

My bestie only eats veggies. So I decided to surprise her with a nice dinner for her last day in Arizona. I'm a meat lover. I took her to the Coronado because they serve all veggie dishes. To my surprise I really enjoyed it. Went back the next day for the fries. Best fries ever homemade like I had as a kid. The bean burger was flavored well and I didn't even miss that I was not eating meat. Nice atmosphere and outdoor seating would highly recommend

I love this place! I found it on Instagram and have been coming here for at least 4 years. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. I love the cherry limeade and rosemary chocolate chip cookies! Current favorite is mushroom burger! They also recently had a crunch wrap that was 💣! Sometimes when they are busy the food can take a little longer to come out. They have a very small kitchen. Be patient!

This place is amazing! Food is delicious, staff is great! Whether you are vegan or not, you will love it here, great food presentation, generous proportions, and excellent flavor! Atmosphere is a vibe and the customer service is nice! One of my top 3 vegan restaurants in phoenix for sure!

Still spiraling from my recent breakup with Beau (yes, the one who said “I love you” and then vanished like a gluten-free croissant at a Sunday brunch), I decided to fight the heartbreak head-on—by doing exactly what he told me not to do: write a book about it. But first? I needed fuel. Emotional, physical, and preferably plant-based. Enter The Coronado PHX, where I filled my soul and stomach with vegan magic. The food? Out of this world. Flavorful, fresh, and satisfying in that “I deserve better” kind of way. The drinks? Dangerous—in the best possible sense. I sipped something pink, pretty, and deceptively strong while basking on their glorious patio like a freshly dumped houseplant finally seeing the sun. Inside, the vibe was just as warm: cozy, eclectic, and oddly reassuring—like the restaurant version of your best friend saying, “Screw him, eat the tacos.” And speaking of comfort… the gentleman sitting across from me? Gorgeous. Like, “Beau who?” levels of distracting. I came for emotional recovery. I left with a full stomach, a little buzzed, and dare I say, a glimmer of hope. 10/10—will be back again. Probably on a date. Probably not with Beau.

Glad I discovered this gem 💎 love the atmosphere and staff was very attentive and friendly. I had the hot cakes and enjoyed the Dark Hall Coffee place next door as well. If you avoid chain restaurants as I do and have an appreciation for small businesses that emphasize this much attention to detail, this is your place! Will definitely be coming back.

Google
Overall a good vegan stop with lots of delicious options. We started with cocktails and the fried guacamole which were delicious. Next we had the Caesar salad (decent; Brussel sprouts were a nice addition) and Coronado Burrito (delicious). Our friends had the Cauliflower burger (good but bun was a bit dry) and Chimichanga (amazing). Our server changed a few times and they didn’t really know what was going on with our table or I would have given 5 stars. Overall very good. Highly recommend.

Google
This place a gem! The short stack pancakes are something special, fluffy, and texture with little touch of sweetness, you don’t need maple if you don’t want. The tofu scramble was fire! and hash potatoes were both extremely seasoned and flavorful - the scramble has a soft texture in case you don’t like that, but I did! Paired with their house made scratch ketchup that’s tangy this dish is so good! Music was little loud but you get used to it, and they have a 5 star coffee and bakery next door that serves perfect Americanos and vegan pastries. MUST VISIT, stands out above all the other breakfast/brunch places. This place is for vegans and non-vegans.

Google
I recently had an incredible dining experience at this plant-based Mexican restaurant! From start to finish, everything was delicious and creatively prepared. We started with the fried guacamole, and it was a total game-changer. The crispy outer layer paired with the creamy guacamole inside was an unexpected but fantastic twist on a classic dish. For the main course, we tried both the cauliflower burrito and the tacos. The cauliflower burrito was a real highlight—it was perfectly roasted, with a smoky, slightly spicy flavor that balanced well with the fresh veggies. The wrap was soft and fresh, and every bite was packed with flavor. As for the tacos, they were equally impressive. The fillings were vibrant and flavorful, with well-seasoned veggies, fresh salsa, and just the right amount of heat. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The restaurant itself had a relaxed and vibrant vibe, perfect for a casual night out or a special occasion. Whether you’re vegan or just exploring plant-based options, this place will not disappoint. It’s a fresh take on Mexican cuisine that leaves you full and satisfied, without missing the meat! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for the weekend and was excitedly looking forward to the vegan eats as I'm limiting meat in January. I found the Coronado after a long flight and everything was delicious. I ordered the fried guac, the beet burger, and fries. The beet burger was so good I tried to come in before my flight back home for another but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. The cherry limeade was also good and not too sweet. Great spot and would love to visit again!

Yelp
Beware, even if you have a reservation, they probably won't honor it. So don't count on it. We made a same-day reservation for noon on Sunday for Father's Day, and received an email confirming our reservation. When we arrived, we were told it would still be a 3 hour wait because they "print out their reservations each day in the morning," but their system still allows you to book if tables are free (apparently we should have known they use the paper copy and not what's online for the public). Unhelpfully, they offered to instead seat us outdoors, where there were plenty of empty tables. But then they said it would still be almost an hour wait, and even then it would depend on whether the servers felt comfortable see outside in the heat (even though they'll let customers sit there). All of this was communicated by their manager, who explained her hands were tied. Change your booking system, or customers will find another place, like we did.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem starting from the outside appeal, to the inside beauty. Its such a fun place. This is a vegan restaurant and im going to say as a vegitarian this is the best vegan restaurant I've ever been to. The food is perfect you can tell they care and you can taste the freshness and love in each bite. I had the potato flautas. Had a side of refried black beans and Mexican rice. and I have never had anything come close to how good these were. My friend has the cauliflower tacos and they looked great and she really enjoyed them. Our server was kind ans quick and very attentive. ill be back again and again amd I very much recommend even if you aren't vegan!!

Yelp
Okay where to start. The owner is a sweetheart and so very welcoming. He stood there and had a whole conversation with us about how he acquired his business and gave us tips. But that's not all... the food..... I'm not vegan by any means and I crave this food more often than I should haha it's made with very simple ingredients but the love put into it, man does it make it taste that much better. In another instance the lights in the whole neighborhood went out and the owner handled the situation in the best way anyone could and since the electricity had not gone out in Dark Hall, he took the ones that wanted to stay in there and did his magic with what he had and guess what? The food was just as delicious

Yelp
Our group stopped by for Sunday brunch and started with the mimosa kit. Their pet friendly outdoor patio is nicely shaded and very lovely when the weather is right. Everything we ordered was delicious. I recommend the Caesar salad and chilaquiles with both sauces!

Yelp
I came here with my family for my birthday, and we had the best brunch! I'm the only vegan in the family, and even my meat-eater parents and siblings thought the food was fantastic. I made a reservation for our group of 5 in advance, so we were seated at a nice corner booth. The place was busy but not full when we came in at 11am on a Sunday. Immediately we were greeted at our table by Juan, who introduced himself as the owner. He was extremely friendly and gave us a brief history of the place, and welcomed us to go next door to Dark Hall Coffee to grab coffee if we wanted and bring it back inside. My dad went next door for a latte, and also picked up a mini birthday cake for me as well! For food I had the brunch special for that day, which was an absolutely DELICIOUS loaded toast. The menu isn't huge, but everything is made from scratch and done exceptionally well. I will definitely be back again to work through the rest of the menu. After our meal our server brought us some plates and a knife for our cake, which was lovely. With the check they also bring you a little notebook that patrons write in, which I thought was really cute. All in all the food was absolutely incredible and everyone we interacted with was wonderful, highly highly recommend!

Yelp
Such a beautiful little spot with AMAZING food you can feel good about eating because it's plant based and you can support a local small business. If you have to wait, it's because they're about quality not quantity. Service is great too.

Yelp
The Coronado has to be one of the best restaurants to visit in Phoenix. This vegan restaurant serves some of the most creative sweet and savory brunch dishes ranging from pancakes, tacos, burgers, salads, and burritos. Each dish is freshly made to order and is packed with unexpected flavor that will make you keep wanting more. I recommend getting their Coronado burrito, cauliflower tacos, buffalo cauliflower burgers, and any of their desserts. The restaurant is clean and spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. The environment is pleasant and relaxed. I could definitely see myself hanging out here with family and friends while enjoying some delicious brunch! I will definitely visit again when I am back in Phoenix.

Yelp
I recently went to The Coronado PHX. It was a close walk from where I was staying. Phoenix is very spread out and a car here is necessary. Being a car-free urban San Franciscan meant that I opted to use Lyft nearly daily in Phoenix yet appreciated being able to walk to The Coronado PHX. The Coronado PHX is 100 percent vegan. I loved seeing a full restaurant with so many folks eating vegan food. This made me very happy and like supporting vegan restaurants for that reason. I decided to go with the Vegan Chimichanga because I was in Arizona and the Chimichanga was apparently created in nearby Tucson so paying homage to Chimichanga is a good thing when in Arizona for when in Roman do as the Romans do is how the saying goes. The Chimichanga was quite alright and made with in house Quinoa Chorizo. I enjoyed it. Friendly service was here. The only thing that could have been better was the ambiance for didn't like the music that was playing. Not much to do about that yet all in all pretty solid and recommended if in Phoenix!

Yelp
Wonderful vegan restaurant in the PHX area tucked away in the neighborhoods and offers delicious plant-based Mexican goodness. I came here to celebrate my sister's commencement from ASU and they were a highlight of the week. Our table started with their Fried Guacamole and their Cauliflower Bites. The guac was my Mom's favorite dish which speaks volumes since she rarely eats much outside of East Asian cooking. The bites were fine but a bit too salty for my liking. For our mains, we tried their Potato Tacos, Mushroom Tacos, Jackfruit Flautas, their California Burrito with cremini asada, and a Caesar Salad. Their potato and mushroom tacos were superb with the former really reminding me of Taco Bell but in the best way. The flautas were topped with a pickled slaw and the seasoned jackfruit really made the dish stand out. My parents enjoyed their burrito and salad as well, and didn't realize until the end of the meal that everything we had was plant based. The vibe inside was fantastic too. Nice mood lighting for a good atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend Coronado for anyone wanting a fantastic meal whether they eat plant-based or not. Everything was just delicious.

Yelp
Love it here!! Amazing food, amazing service, such a cute restaurant in the best neighborhood. Just wanted to give you guys some love! Thank youuu

Yelp
I was so impressed with this foos! It was so favorable. There were so many good options on the menu it was hard to choose! I got the crunch wrap! The crema dip was so good and favorable! The place was adorable and everything was great! The service was quick and the waiter made great recommendations!

Yelp
Absolutely unreal how good the food is here! Whether you're vegan or not (I'm not but I love vegan good and have many vegan friends) The Coronado is worth trying out. I've been here many times and will keep coming back. The food is delicious and the ambiance is warm, laid back and inviting and the service is always impeccable. I highly reccomend their buffalo cauliflower sandwich, mushroom burger or any of their tacos!

Yelp
This place is amazing. The amount of passion and pride that you see going in to every aspect of this dining experience is 10/10. From the detail in the decor, to the curated mocktails and the well thought out menu. I had the Black seed burger and it did not disappoint. Even the ketchup served with the fries was unique and delicious. The desert was epic. I forget the name, but it was a cake that blew my mind. Texture and taste were perfect. I'm not usually a cake guy so my expectations were far exceeded! Tip: don't forget to check out the coffee shop Dark Hall Nextdoor if you're dining too! They really know how to pull a shot properly! Same owners and same passionate approach. Don't sleep on this one!

Yelp
Just finished the Hot Chocolate 10k and needed to eat! So excited to find this place and that it's all plant-based. Love that I can have a full brunch meal and not just avocado toast like most places we go! The spot is super cute right on the corner in a neighborhood with a chill vibe inside and a tree-shaded patio. We arrived around 11am and there was no wait to get seated. Love the vibe and energy here, and the shirt (Yelp review that started it all) is hilarious! I love that they made a satire out of a bad review and built a 4.3 Star around it! Even more reason for me to stop in and prove the review wrong! Hubby ordered the short stack and I got the good day sandwich. For someone who isn't vegan, the hubby loved his pancakes and really enjoyed the butter saying it was so light & creamy, he would have sworn it was the real deal. The good day sandwich was amazing, but I ended up making it more of a trash plate combining everything as the bread was crumbly and I was making a mess (in a good way). The scramble was flavorful and great consistency, and everything else tasted super fresh, and I loved the bread. Since the dishes didn't come with sides, I got a side order of the fries, and they were bomb! You could tell they're hand-cut and they were well seasoned and perfectly crisp outside with the chewy center. So good I didn't even need to dip them in kitchen, they were delicious on their own. Our server was fantastic and the place (and bathrooms) were really clean. I will for sure be coming back and am so excited to have found a fully vegan restaurant that even my hubby will eat at. The review was right, it's a cult and I'm here for it! Sign me up, I'm hooked

Yelp
Cute restaurant with plant based menu. I appreciate the creativity and options that aren't full of wheat/bread/pasta as are many other plant based establishments. Tried the mushroom tacos and they were so full! Literally the tortillas were stuffed! The fries were perfectly cooked and browned. Also tried the summer mango salad and feel like it was pretty simple and I could have made it at home (greens, mango, avocado, pepitas, cilantro). Nice staff, not a huge place, we were lucky to find seats on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
Vegan food with so much flavor, everything we tried was very good. Portions were big. Would recommend it to vegans and non vegans as well. Also cute ambiance Great service, very attentive and nice.
google avatar

Kathleen O.

Yelp
Food was so good!! Would absolutely do the fried guacamole appetizer again. I had the flautas which were tasty. My husband had the cauliflower tacos - yummy.
google avatar

Lori A.

Yelp
I had all 3 tacos today and they were phenomenal!! All perfectly cooked with well balanced flavors and yummy sauces.
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
Everything was in order and the food was great. Pancakes were a family favorite. My only gripe is that the drip coffee ($5) should have free refills, it's breakfast and some of us need our extra coffee fix.
google avatar

Austin P.

Yelp
Eater named this place one of the 38 restaurants to try in the Phoenix area and recommended the beet and quinoa burger. So I went and got that. The burger was good and the vibes were great, but the service was subpar. Also, there is a disconnect with the online menu and the in-person menu. If you try to order the beet and quinoa burger online, you will see an option for "gluten allergy". However, there is no gluten free accommodation that they can make for the burger. Please update your online ordering system.
google avatar

Lupe E.

Yelp
they have nice food options, the customer service is always great here and the ambiance is cool and laid back, i like coming here for a good vegan option, i got the cauliflower tacos of three and there were flavorful
google avatar

Andie B.

Yelp
Love this place!! It's so cute! Love the decor & everyone working is always very polite and attentive. They offer a range of delicious menu items and have the best pancakes I've ever had!!!
google avatar

Morgan T.

Yelp
For food, we ordered the Beet veggie burger & chorizo tacos (gf). Tacos were amazing!! Beet burger looked good as well. I was worried about the size of the tacos as it does only come with two and a side of chips but it was plenty. Everything is made in house, even the tortillas. Not celiac friendly though & there are only a couple of gluten free options (potato tacos, chorizo tacos, fries app and chips & salsa) so that was a bit disappointing. Ambiance was great although it was not busy whatsoever & service was fine too.
google avatar

Dianne T.

Yelp
Run, do not walk to this place. You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to be wowed by the food here! They are super friendly and make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in. It's super cute inside, very comfortable and unpretentious. Our group of three tried about 5 different entrees. There were leftovers that were still good, later that evening. The fried guacamole was the bomb along with cauliflower tacos, flautas and potato tacos! And don't get me started on the rosemary chocolate chip cookies! If you need coffee and a bakery item, be sure to check out Dark Hall too. Their attached coffee shop that is equally amazing!!
google avatar

Suzette S.

Yelp
This is our "go to" Sunday brunch spot. You are able to make reservations online (we do) and greeted everytime by Juan (mostly)! Love the creative dishes prepared and customer service (they know us by name) . The ambiance is cool as I always enjoy the music selection played. Thank you for great food I can bring family and friends to .
google avatar

Veronica O.

Yelp
So excited to find a plant based restaurant! The menu has so many delicious sounding options. I ended up ordering the cauliflower tacos. They were perfectly fried and crispy with great flavor. I want to go back and try everything on the menu! The service was also great, everyone was friendly and service was pretty quick. The restaurant itself had a very cool and inviting atmosphere. They have a smaller parking lot right next to the restaurant, but there's a huge lot across the street.
google avatar

Andre K.

Yelp
Juan is awesome. Food is awesome. customer service is extraordinary. Local business. Defiantly should go out of your way to support.
google avatar

Logan T.

Yelp
The food here was incredible, tons of delicious vegan options including a burrito that amazed and delicious mushroom tacos, plus a cauliflower appetizer that was a treat. Service was a bit unhurried, but the food made it worth the wait.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
The vibes?! Amazing!! The people? So kind! The food?! RIDICULOUS!! For some of us, vegan is not a lifestyle choice but a dietary requirement & the Coronado is SUCH A TREAT!!!! These potatoes?! & the dipping sauce? Mouth watering- crispy- seasoned perfectly!! The pancakes?! Best pancakes (vegan or not!) that I've ever had!!!
google avatar

Meily A.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally went on a Saturday for brunch. It was busy but we didn't have to wait at all. I had the cauliflower tacos which were delicious and huge. Lots of greens in the tacos which is always a plus. The potato tacos also looked good and I wanna try that next. There's also a coffee shop next door which is convenient.
google avatar

Nooshi B.

Yelp
Coronado was a solid choice for breakfast/brunch. The space is nice- they have indoor and outdoor seating and our waitress was nice. I was kinda bummed that my first choice was not available (crunch wrap) and wish we would've been told when the waitress first greeted us. Aside from that, we went with Cauliflower tacos which were delicious( the batter was awesome). The California Burrito was okay- a little too mushy on the textures- it needs something crunchy/dry to separate itself from the beans, fries, mushroom Asada. My friends bowl looked and smelled amazing. I'd like to come back to try the crunch wrap and some other items!
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
59 stars for flavor manipulation!!!! Holy Coronado vegan friends. The tofu scramble seems to be the basics round these parts and what a lovely texture! The namesake burrito is packed with potatoes, spinach, and yummy tasty spices top of off with the dank red chili sauce they serve table side. Oh mylanta! The staff is a bunch of sweeties with killer style and authenticity. I tried to orders another one but the wait was too long to make my flight. Next time I'll plan for more time.
google avatar

Gisselle G.

Yelp
The chilaquiles are my favorite from here!! Food is always a hit and the restaurant is in a great area.
google avatar

Issac R.

Yelp
Went in the afternoon and the service was quick and friendly :) the burger the chimichanga we ordered had such delectable and surprising tastes! Great place for high quality vegan food

Susie C.

Yelp
It's a beautiful setting with colorful art, staff is knowledgeable and helpful as well polite and attentive. The food is freshly made and delicious. Portions are a good size. Even my non-vegan friends love this place.

Anthony S.

Yelp
MY RATING IS SOLELY BASED OFF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their food is impeccable. It's one of my favorite restaurants. Ever since they moved into their new space they have had these weird waves of "we need your help" mantras they post on instagram and post about specials that they only serve for like an hour. I believe it's to draw people in for service or they make like 10 items of the special. Seriously, miss the old place
google avatar

Samantha R.

Yelp
I don't normally voice negative experiences on Yelp but I truly do not understand what is wrong each time I come to this establishment. I don't have anything to complain about before COVID when they were at their previous location but since visiting their new spot during weekday happy hour time (they're never busy when I'm there) I have not felt welcome. In fact the past four times I've felt like I'm inconveniencing them by being there and they go far too long in between checking on my party. I'm understanding and patient when I can tell an establishment is slammed but again this is always early on during happy hour on a weekday and there are only 2-3 tables including my own. This has led me to cut my visit short the last four times due to the service. I see a lot of love on here for this place but I'm not sure what's going on each time I go lately. Really makes me not want to support this place anymore. :(

Jason J.

Yelp
Delicious food. Kind staff. Beautiful atmosphere. They have soy free options, gluten free options, and have great vegan food.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is amazing, and the vibe is great. The food is always scratch made and delicious, and they are very active in the community and supporting other businesses and charity organizations. My wife and I come here regularly and will continue to support them. Beware of the terrifying bathroom pictures though
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
Great food and service, I can always count on excellence when I visit The Coronado. The ambiance, decor is also super cool.
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
I was in Phoenix and my non vegan friends recommended this restaurant and boy was it good. I had the Chimichanga and it was amazing! It was filled with potatoes and quinoa. The sour cream on top and the beans on the side was also delicious. My friend had the cauliflower tacos and informed the meal also. Margaritas were delicious. Very refreshing and wasn't lacking in flavor. The service was great also. Very attentive. I definitely recommend this restaurant to any vegan. You know it's good when the non vegans love it. Lol
google avatar

Monica O.

Yelp
It was date night, and The Coronado Phx was the place that we picked! The Coronado has been a place I have been wanting to try so I was looking forward to this meal. After checking out the menu I went with the cauliflower tacos. They were masa battered & fried cauliflower with guacamole, spinach, pepitas & avocado dressing. These tacos were very filling and delish! Who said vegan food has no flavor and is boring? Not The Coronado Phx, they know what they are doing! Dinner was definitely good and I look forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.
google avatar

Kalyn C.

Yelp
Back again to say this place continues to exceed my expectations! My sister has soy and wheat allergies and they are so knowledgable and considerate in helping accommodate her menu choices. The service is always so nice and the food is consistently delicious.

Tyler G.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. My friends and I went to The Coronado to celebrate a birthday, and it turned into a nightmare. The service was abysmal from the start. They kept messing up our drinks and expected us to just go along with it. Our food was delayed, and to top it off, one person didn't even get their meal -- and there was no attempt to make it right. The servers didn't bother writing down our orders, which probably explains why everything came out wrong. When we politely mentioned that our drinks were incorrect, one of the pregnant servers was shockingly rude and could care less. She didn't even know what drinks she was serving lol. They even spilled a drink on the person whose birthday we were celebrating and didn't even say sorry! Mind numbing experience to say the least. The bartender seemed clueless, and it felt like no one in there knew what they were doing. Honestly, it looked like half the staff was out of it (high on something), as if they couldn't even understand the problems with our orders, let alone offer any solutions. This place is way overpriced for the kind of slow, incoherent service they provide. I wouldn't recommend The Coronado to anyone. If you're looking for an overpriced meal with terrible service, this is your spot. Otherwise, save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else. Never coming back. My recommendation, fire everyone (except the cooks) and start from scratch. This place needs clear management and guidelines. Customer service isn't hard to maintain and it starts with the people who are in customer service. Do better.

Yelp
So I have an alium allergy. Nothing on their menu could be adapted? Everything is THAT premade? That's what I was told.

Yelp
The Coronado is one of those love hate places for me. I know I'm supposed to love them (as a PHX vegan), and I do, but I hate that I feel called to go eat their cauliflower tacos and jackfruit flautas - basically 24/7. I can't say I've had their entire menu at this point, but I've had a good portion of it, like maybe 90% of it. The cauliflower tacos are a staple here, it's what drives people in droves to come dine on their all vegan, plant based menu. For me though, the real winner are the Jackfruit flautas. I've had those at least three times now and they've been out a few times I tried to order them, they're really a fan favorite and my personal favorite on the Coronado menu. I love the potato tacos too, they are super tasty. Honestly, everything about the menu here is a win. I love the elote, the fried guacamole, the vegan chorizo - pro tip order the fried guac and a side of vegan chorizo then put them together, it's so good and sort of like an order of vegan nachos - which BTW Coronado - you can totally do vegan nachos with the ingredients you have in your kitchen already with the chorizo. Coronado has a real problem with accommodation though. I've been here with friends with allergies, specifically corn, and when they wanted the potato tacos, the staff from the waiter all the way up through the manager on duty gave us attitude when we asked to do this as a burrito in a flour tortilla - allergies be damned they won't substitute jackfruit diddly on their menu - such a pain for customers, but easier on their kitchen I guess. Another for instance here is that they refuse to allow you to order a mix and match of the tacos, all three of your tacos must be the same. I understand their menu is made to order and not on a warmer and ready to plate then serve; alas, I'd still love to have a potato taco AND two cauliflower tacos. They will allow you to order an additional taco on your taco plate; however, they still require the fourth taco to be the *same as the first three. Service is sometimes great and sometimes just ok; recall the whole allergy thing, even the person who claimed to be the manager was argumentative, but they eventually did concede and allow us to order the tacos as a bowl with no tortilla at all. Coronado is in fact one of the very few table service vegan restaurants in Phoenix and with a full bar to boot. You really don't find that with vegan food in this town too often. For those two aspects of the dining experience, Coronado is nice for a date night, a decent option for family dining night, for grabbing lunch by yourself or meeting up with friends. Coronado could really elevate the entire experience here if they'd be more accommodating for their guests with allergies and guests who want tacos, but also don't want three of the same taco, their food is otherwise super delish. Just cut the general holier than thou because we are vegans attitude from service altogether and you'd be a super amazing place to eat. I'll definitely be back because they're so darn close and basically an extension of my own kitchen at this point, but I will do so begrudgingly while kicking and screaming and mumbling about having to eat three of the same darn taco when I want both.
