The 23 Best Restaurants In Salt Lake City - Salt Lake City - The Infatuation

"The owners of Park City’s Hearth & Hill opened Urban Hill in 2022, and it was the first restaurant in SLC’s now-booming Post District. From the glass-enclosed wine room to the magic bathroom doors that open with the wave of a hand, Urban Hill obviously spent a ridiculous amount of money to build this 192-seat restaurant, and all the effort paid off. Start an order of skillet rolls served with churned butter and sea salt, then share a round of the coal-roasted beets or some grilled oysters. The Salt Lake Shirley mocktail is a fun riff on the Shirley Temple, and we also like their house cocktails, specifically the Mystic Rhythm made with Park City’s High West double rye." - jenny willden

I had a really great experience at Urban Hill and would definitely recommend it. We started with the lump crab chile relleno, which was flavorful and a nice way to kick off the meal. For my main dish, I tried the strozzapreti pasta. The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a subtle spicy kick at the end of each bite, which I enjoyed. I do think it could be even better with a bit of added protein, but it was still very good overall. My friend ordered the lamb porterhouse chops, and that was easily the star of the night. The lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. He really enjoyed it and said it was one of the best he’s had in a while. The service throughout the evening was excellent—our server was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The atmosphere is modern and lively but still comfortable, making it a great place for a night out. A tip: make a reservation if you can, since it gets busy even on weekdays, or plan to arrive before 6 PM. Parking can feel a little confusing at first, but their website explains it well, and once you know where to go, there’s plenty of space (just be sure to get it validated). Overall, Urban Hill is definitely worth visiting, and I’d be happy to go back and try more dishes.

Fast service, great food, such attention to detail and flavors. Never thought gochujang could be elevated like this… life changing. Pork belly was absolutely perfect, the best plate of it we’ve tried thus far. Fatty, moist, tender, paired with fresh and acidic ingredients, just everything we were looking for and hitting on all levels. Risotto and couscous cooked to perfection. Just an amazing experience! Not to mention they give you a polaroid picture for your birthday, had no idea what a pleasant surprise. Would absolutely recommend. Only critique would be the toffee pudding was underwhelming, especially compared to the UK. we’re used to it soaked in toffee sauce and the cake was a bit dry and just not enough caramel sauce to really soak the cake. That would’ve taken it up some levels.

Google
Was a bit disappointed. The lamb chop was unevenly cooked and not really that flavorful, it was ordered medium rare and it was a mix of medium and medium well. The risotto was easily the star of that dish. The striped bass was decent, with the rice underneath being a little bit better than the actual fish. Overall the bass dish was good, but nothing special. The ceviche was not really like any ceviche I’ve ever had and was very disappointing. It was more like some sort of creamy seafood salad… the calamari was really good, though the chorizo was a bit salty. The cocktails were just okay, I love old fashioneds and whiskey in general, I was very underwhelmed by the blue velvet. Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was okay, kind of a weird spot it’s located it in. I was on the fence about a 3 vs a 4 star review, but ultimately went with a 4 given the service.

We had a wonderful experience at Urban Hill in Salt Lake City. 🍴 Food – Everything we tried was absolutely flavorful! The pork belly, the eel, and the potato gnocchi were all standouts—well-crafted and delicious. 🍸 Drinks – The cocktails were fantastic, especially the Old Fashioned and The Arborist. Perfectly balanced and crafted with care. 🤝 Service – The service truly elevated our evening. Taylor was exceptional—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They even surprised us with a picture that made our day extra special. ✨ Overall – It’s a great spot for foodies and cocktail lovers. My only small critique is that the space doesn’t feel very intimate, so if you’re looking for a cozy, private vibe, keep that in mind. We’ll definitely be back!

Such a lovely experience. Food was delicious, good staff, great drinks, and yummy dessert. Wonderful atmosphere. Printed menu said my name and Happy Birthday. I loved the Birthday Polaroid. ♥️ I had an incredible birthday dinner at Urban Hill.

Sammy Jo the manager was friendly, interested in us and helpful. John our server was excellent. Yusif was on task with water and helping to clear the table. When the food came it looked so good I forgot to take pictures. The Bison was flavorful, the Roasted Chicken was juicy and not overcooked. The skillet rolls were great, the Bbq oysters were tasty, the cucumber salad was perfect and the deserts were high quality. The atmosphere was nice although the noise level was quite high. It was a Tuesday night at 6pm and the place was packed. We made reservations ahead of time for our anniversary and they printed special menus with our names and they took an instant picture of us with our deserts. This was a fun date and we will be returning to Urban Hill.

We came here to celebrate our first anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! Every little detail was taken care of – they personalized our menu, took a lovely photo of us, and even framed it with the restaurant’s logo as a gift. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the prices were totally fair for such a special experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a group of six with no reservation. The wait was at least 45 minutes. Jessica got us on the outdoor patio (per our request) in 10 mins! Our waitress Gabi described the starters and entrees in great detail. Our meal was incredible and the atmosphere was perfect.

Yelp
4.5 star rounded up to 5. Food: 5/5 Service by Waiting Staff: 5/5 Drunk Selection: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 (it's nicely decorated, tables are comfortable, but it's super loud) Hostess: 4/5 I've been here a few times for brunch, but this was the first time without a reservation. We stood there for about 5 minutes before anyone even came to talk to us. A server "checked us in" but then the hostess came over and seemed confused, wasn't super friendly, and then eventually sat us at the bar. Once we were seated, the service was great -- as it always is. Super awesome wait staff that are always friendly and attentive. All of the food I've tired from there has been really good -- never disappointed. Huge wine list, good beer selection, and good, unique cocktail selection. Definitely recommend making a reservation when you go here.

Yelp
Pros: - cool Ambience - service was top notch - food looked appetizing - ingredients were fresh Cons: - Chairs were super uncomfortable - food was extremely sauce heavy - the flavors were super strong I felt like getting punched on every drink/ dish Overall I think this is a cool spot and dished were interesting, but I do think if the flavors were toned down a bit (and less saucy) the overall experience would be better. For example, the steak tartar was delicious but the mustard seeds covering on top was much too strong. The same goes for the sauce on the black cod and the sea bass. Like I want to taste the fish (and the fish does taste good) but the sauce overpowered the entire dish. The rolls and the lamp chop was perfect though! And I really loved the keylime pie and ube flan. The sweetness was just right. Overall I would probably want to give it another try knowing that the style of dishes probably just doesn't do it for me.

Yelp
The thing that really gets this restaurant a full five stars is the customer service. I ordered a main course - about 10 minutes later I was informed that that main was sold out and I had to pick another. The manager ended up covering the main I got instead- that was really really appreciated and above and beyond! The food was also absolutely incredible. The oysters were fresh and horseradish was given at request. The bread was incredibly soft. The steak tartare was delicious - best in the city I'd say! For main I had bass. It came with coconut rice and a Japanese curry like sauce. The ginger on top made for a delicious combination. For dessert I tried the ube dish. It came with rice and was a playful way to end the meal. As for ambiance - when the restaurant is full the sound reverberates off the wood on the ceiling and gets a little loud- but not enough to be bothersome.

Yelp
We love Park City's local Hearth & Hill and Hill's Kitchen, so we wanted to visit their sister restaurant in Salt Lake City - Urban Hill. The whole menu looked so good! Right now we're not drinking alcohol in preparation for our marathon, and tomorrow we both have long runs so we didn't want heavy proteins. We'll be back when we can try some of the other items we had our eyes on! The kitchen sent out a beet-mint-watermelon amuse bouche. We started with the gnocchi and burrata. For mains we got the bass (for him), the beet salad (for me), and cucumbers to share. Then a special surprise chocolate torte for our anniversary; you know I paired that with a tea! For a more casual dining experience, this is the best service I've had in a long time at a restaurant. The floor worked as a team though we did have a main server. I felt like we had a team making sure this was the night of our lives and you know what??? That made it super magical like they were hosting us in their home not hoping to feed us and earn a tip to turn the table over to another party. If management is reading this - Whatever Urban Hill is doing to have your team gel and work as a team; it's working! I like giving good reviews, but this one is great! 6 stars!!!

Yelp
We went here after leaving a chaotic and overcrowded Yelp Elite event at Sunday's Best next door. We were so excited to get a nice spot at the bar with no reservation considering this place was hoppin' on a Tuesday night. We were just here a few weeks ago for our anniversary, and this experience was even better. We started with a few appetizers--the crudo, skillet rolls, and grilled mushrooms. The crudo blew me away and was one of the best appetizers I've ever had--an amazing flavor-packed bite. For drinks, we enjoyed the Arborist, Persephone, Mr. Worldwide, and Pearly Dew Drops. All were beautifully crafted and delicious. For the entree, we shared the iberian "tomahawk" pork chop, which was the best chop I've ever had. Our waitress, Gabi, did an amazing job taking care of us and explaining the menu. The meal cost about $235 with tip and we left full and happy with no leftovers. It wasn't our original plan for the night but I'm glad we pivoted.

Yelp
we wanted to try this place since the chef best bobby flay. while traveling in salt lake city we made reservations upon entering we were greeted quickly and shown to our table. our server was Hailey and her recommendations were perfect. We ordered the tomahawk pork chop and the striped bass dishes. Both were coked to perfection and were delicious. The ambiance is of an upscale new american restaurant. If you are vacationing or or a local make sure you order the chile relleno for an appetizer. That's the winning dish that beat Bobby Flay and it's delicious! Make sure you request Hailey's section and follow her recommendations you will not be disappointed by them or her service.

Yelp
Loved Urban Hill!!! Great spot, fun vibe, amazing food and exceptional service. What more do you want? And the prices weren't bad either. IT was a weekend and too late for me to get a reservation so we sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing! So friendly even entertaining. Wish I'd caught his name. We started with the skillet rolls, so tasty with a little salt! 5/5 Caputo's burrata toast. 5/5 Bison Ribeye, Amazing flavor with fermented chili. 5/5 My wife ordered the pork dish, tenderized and breaded, great flavor! 5/5 Fun spot on the higher end but not overly expensive. We will be coming back!

Yelp
We are always down to try something new, being in Utah my whole life it seems we've almost tried it all. I found urban hills as my husband wanted American cuisine for his Father's Day dinner! At first when we were seated by the host, we were seated by what it seemed like a big group party around us and it was hard for the waiter to greet us and we could barely hear. I asked if there was seating on the other side of the restaurant and they were able to accommodate us. We started off with oysters from west and east coast and the crudo. We were not informed which oysters were from west and east but oh well. Both appetizers were delicious. We ordered the lamb, and the sea bass. The lamb was cooked to chef's temperature, and as I kept eating my lamb was getting more raw so sadly I didn't finish that part. The balsamic glaze and risotto with the dish was good though. My husbands sea bass sadly had burnt skin as you can see in the picture which was pretty disappointing, and lacked flavor. He liked the risotto more than the star of the dish itself. Fries were fresh and delicious, French onion soup was also good. Mac and cheese I feel can definitely use a bit more flavor. Great place for date night but I feel like there could be some improvements on the food itself.

Yelp
Brunch at Urban Hill: A Stylish Experience with Stellar Food Walking into Urban Hill is impressive -- the space is incredibly stylish, with an eye-catching wine room and distinct sections throughout the restaurant, each offering a beautiful aesthetic and warm atmosphere. Even the counter seating looked inviting. We came for brunch and had made a reservation (which was a good call -- there was definitely a wait). We were seated in a random back room corner table -- more on that later -- but we were warmly greeted by our server, who was absolutely lovely. She was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We started with Bloody Marys, opting to add the little tiger shrimp for a small extra charge -- totally worth it. The shrimp added a great depth of flavor that really came through in the drink. Next up: a half-dozen oysters. Being big oyster fans, we were thrilled -- they were shucked perfectly, not too salty, and paired beautifully with a cucumber-yuzu mignonette that enhanced their natural brininess without overpowering them. For entrées, we shared the Creekstone Farms brisket hash -- a wonderful surprise packed with flavor, topped with over-easy eggs whose soft yolk added richness to every bite. We will definitely be ordering this again when we come back for brunch. My other half had the Croque Madame -- something I had never heard of before, but it was amazing. The dish featured toast layered with prosciutto and Gruyère cheese, topped with a sunny-side-up egg. The yolk from the egg was perfect for dipping the rustic seasoned potatoes and pulling in a bit of melty cheese, making each bite absolutely incredible. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert when we saw Key Lime Pie on the menu. It was massive -- the slice was huge! Our server thoughtfully brought two side plates and two forks before it even arrived, which we didn't understand at first -- but once we saw the slice, we realized why. It was the perfect way to portion it out without totally stuffing ourselves. We closed out with smiles -- it was an overall lovely experience. The only thing I'd change for next time: I'll request seating in the main dining room instead of the back corner. While the back room was fine, it lacked the gorgeous vibe and lively energy of the main space (plus it mainly looked out onto a driveway). But now we know for next time! Strictly food and service? Five stars all the way. Urban Hill is a brunch spot we'll absolutely be returning to.

Yelp
We were very excited to try this place. Service was amazing, very friendly and little details added made our anniversary very special. Restaurant itself was beautiful. Unfortunately the food did not, it is a pricey place so your expectations are higher too. We got the New York Strip what was special for that night, it was 100$. It was very disappointing, so was the buffalo, very chewy. Cocktails were not the greatest. Service was 5 stars, food was 2.

Yelp
Came here for a celebratory dinner with a pre fixe meal - for $150 (including 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 drink and tip). Comparing to Michelin Star places that also offer the same pricing with more courses and shorter waiting times in between dishes, I expected a little more from here. The staff were super friendly though, and the overall environment was nice. It's great for big groups and it's super spacious. The drinks menu was definitely a highlight.
google avatar

Yelp
I have to update my review- we did not have a great dinner like I expected during our last visit! I was shocked by how underwhelming the crab ravioli was and did not enjoy my bass! I get that it is prepared blackened- but I basically picked most of the actual burned top off the $40 dish with a frown. The description does not tout blackened. We also got the banana cream pie and it was either not the same as when we were here before or it was simply forgettable. I tried the smoked beet salad and was glad I didn't order it- way too smoky. The star was the key lime pie. Huge portion that could be shared by 4 and it was a delicious bite. I hate to say it but I am not sure I will be back! I want to make sure that a good restaurant is consistently delivering delicious bites no matter what is ordered.

Yelp
Great spot, loved the decor and vibe. Celebrated a birthday and along with the reservation, they made a custom "Happy Birthday" menu for us, no extra charge. We had ordered food to share, 2 drinks and a glass of wine for exactly $100+tip, not bad. We had the Crudo which was like a savechi. Then a Cesar salad, cheeseburger, fries, and Mac & cheese. The Cesar was good, the lettuce is grilled and warm, and I personally like cold crunchy lettuce. The burger was amazing, it's a smashed burger with all the toppings. The bun was loose and it got a little messy, but well worth it. The Mac & cheese was spicy and crunchy. The service was great, the staff is pretty hipster, friendly, seems like a pretty liberal spot and area. I'm sure we'll go back again.

Gohar A.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. I am in love with this place. James was our server. He was very well informed about food and he recommended us the best food we tried. Taylor the sommelier helped us to get a good red wine with our steaks. In love with this place.

Yelp
Beautiful experience in SLC if you're looking for something that's quite perfect for really any and all occasions from a date night, celebrations, corporate dinners, this place has it all and is great for it all. The food is quite on point which I feel like is hard to come by these days even in SLC, to no one's fault, just difficult to find very good places that have all their food, ambiance, operations and everything else all on point, it's rare. Urban Hill was a breath of fresh air. My husband and I grabbed dinner after I landed at the airport, we enjoyed the bass, lamb, two cocktails, and the ube crème brûlée. The restaurant was full at 9 pm on a Wednesday night but everything from the staff, food, service was on point. Every dish was excellent, unique, beautifully presented, and made of quality. Our waiter was Jordan and he was probably one of the best servers we've ever had, detail oriented, gave sound recommendations, checked in at all the right times, let us mull over the menu with ample time, super helpful and kind and we just adored him. The team here was outstanding. Overall it gave me hope that we can still attract some really great places in SLC and we will certainly be back, this will definitely be somewhere I consider to being out-of-state visitors and host corporate dinners.

Yelp
I'm so glad we finally got to try Urban Hill! Everything from the decor to the food to the service was perfect! The staff went above and beyond for our anniversary including printing personalized menus and taking a cute Polaroid to help us celebrate our day. What really stood out though was the food. We started with the pork belly starter and that may have been our favorite thing we tried. The pork was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of spice. I'm not the biggest fan of miso, but the miso corn puree may have converted me. We ordered the Iberian pork chop and bison ribeye as our entrees and they were both so good! I loved how balanced and beautifully presented the dishes are. We ended the meal with a decadent sticky toffee pudding. I cannot wait to visit again!

Yelp
This is a perfecto place for a birthday dinner! The service was great and the food was amazing! Some highlights were the bbq oysters and the bass. We got a chocolate dessert, Polaroid picture and custom menu as part of our birthday reservation. The ambiance was very fun and classy, we will come back asap!

Yelp
Was hoping for more. My wife and I have been very excited to come here for a long time because we've heard great things, but we were let down by the food. We started with a half-dozen oysters, which tasted incredible, but half of them were so tiny, I can't believe they served them. Then we tried the grilled caesar salad and mushroom appetizer. They actually cook the lettuce leaves to create a smoky flavor, but it isn't worth the soggy, warm leaves that come as a result. The dressing was decent, but too salty. The mushrooms, however, were unreal-- definitely the highlight of the meal for us. For entree's, my wife ordered the striped bass and I went with the bison ribeye. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. The steak was cooked perfectly, but I was not a fan of the mole negro that it came with because it overpowered the dish. Plus, the other items on the plate didn't contribute anything substantial. For $70, every element on the plate should be independently delicious and in balance with one another. I can't say that was the case here. My wife's striped bass was pretty good, but we didn't love the seasoning. The rice it was served on was great. We also shared a side of Brussel's sprouts, which weren't bad, but didn't impress either of us. My dirty martini was solid, but the olives in the glass were bland and tasted old. My wife's espresso martini was very good. We were happy with the service and the ambiance. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, which helped redeem some of the flaws in the food. Overall, we had a really nice time here, but won't be itching to come back any time soon. For just under $300, we left feeling underwhelmed given our high expectations.

Yelp
My husband and I plus a couple friend of ours decided to have dinner here for my wedding anniversary. The staff did something memorable by having our event printed on their menu. It was such a sweet gesture. The place looks so modern and you can see the open kitchen. It didn't hurt that the food was great.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
As usual the food was superb. Always fresh delicious and served with style. Our service was attentive and Natalie was very helpful with menus and our wine service. Ambience is always clean and modern, love this place. Not a huge fan of the s'mores, but the affogato was fabulous.

Yelp
Great meal last night. Crispy Pork Belly was amazing and a generous portion. Followed up with Fire Roasted Maitaki Mushrooms and a glass of Nebbiolo. Rye Boulevardier (a Negoni with whiskey) for a night cap. All delicious. Friendly yet prompt and professional service. Chatted with sommelier Katie about the awesome wine program. Beautiful space. Wil be back next time in SLC.

Yelp
We had heard Urban Hill was good but were even more surprised once we finally got the chance to visit! The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, great for a date night or business dinner. I started with the skillet rolls, which were salty and perfectly warmed. For the main course, we chose the lamb bourguignon and pork Milanese. The lamb was fall apart tender and infused with deep, velvety flavors from the red wine reduction. I loved the elevated take on this comfort dish. The pork Milanese was good also. Cooked well and we really liked the citrus flavors. Outside of the food, service was attentive. Parking was very limited, there were spots at the garage next door, but all except one were taken.

Yelp
Trendy and classy ambiance, great for special occasions. Wonderful service and flavorful food. Salt Lake City is not known for their food scene, I have been to so many 'nice' restaurants and have been disappointed. I expected the same here, but this spot is a pleasant surprise. It has an open kitchen which I love so you can see the food being made - always a good sign. We ordered the bass and steak. The bass flavor was just right. The steak was great also considering this not a steakhouse. BUT I think the sauce that comes under the steak takes away from the taste of the steak, it doesn't belong with this plate - it's off. Next time I would order it without the sauce or a different sauce on the side. It's not cheap but a good splurge one in a while. The beet drink (forgot the name) was perfect - not sweet, not bitter, not citrusy or sour - it was just right and what I needed. I would definitely go back for dinner or drinks and apps at the bar.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was POPPING for a Wednesday, definitely make a reservation in advance. The ambiance was lovely and great for business dinner or date nights. I will say the service was a bit slow and it took fairly long to get our main course, and seemed as if they had more bussers than waiting staff. The food was good, wide variety.

Yelp
Just like Mary Poppins, Urban Hill is "practically perfect in every way." Dining here is more than a meal, it's an experience. I was treated to an evening out to celebrate my birthday, and every little detail was considered. Our reservation noted the birthday, along with a food allergy. When we were seated, I was delighted to see a special menu with "happy birthday Nycole" printed on the top-it's those little things that really are the big things. Our server greeted us and acknowledged the food allergy and offered suggestions on the menu of things that would be safe. Throughout the evening, service was impeccable. I felt like I was a VIP guest (however, I'm sure that everyone is treated equally well). The food was absolutely astounding. Executive Chef Nick Zocco, a James Beard award finalist, proved just why he's received such accolades. The dishes were amazing, with complex flavors and gorgeous presentations. The cocktails and mocktails were also delicious. Our server recommended a digestif which was also amazing. We took a picture of the bottle so we could remember it for next time. To top off the evening, they brought me a lovely chocolate dessert and took a polaroid picture of us and presented it back in a little paper frame. I'm not sure what could have made the night better-it was truly remarkable.

Yelp
Excellent sweet and rich brunch, savory items are decent. The decor and vibes are fantastic, just a great ambiance overall. Loved the bread pudding and blue corn crepes, just really dig the out of box flavors and mix of ingredients, especially berries and cinnamon! The French dip was okay, I expected more seasoning as well as the eggs benedict, just solid, but I have definitely had better. Potatoes were pretty burnt so we set it aside, a waitress who wasn't ours walked by towards the end of our meal and offered new ones, which were much better! Overall, I would probably give them another try.

Yelp
Cool spot! The dinner entrees we got were extremely tasty and presentation looked great. My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. We ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer along with our dinner entrees. The one that stood out the most to me for food was the sable fish. My husband's pork tenderloin was also quite good. The appetizer (calamari) was nothing special and the cocktails seemed to be filled to the brim with ice. Make sure you make a reservation as that seemed necessary even though there were empty tables. They spaced out the parties in a good healthy way so it wasn't too noisy. It is also nice that they validate for parking in the garage next door. Pretty easy to find and park and even easier to get out. Just need to remember to ask for validation. Service was mediocre and is ultimately why there is a reduction in stars. I would have thought it'd be better given the type of restaurant and cost but we were seated and the hostess mentioned a waitress's name would be with us soon. It took about 40 minutes and then finally a lot of looks at the staff, one of the managers came over to start a cocktail order. It looks like there was some confusion on who would be our waiter since the original name was not who we ultimately ended up with. Needless to say, after that got sorted, our new waiter Dawson was super attentive and friendly. He even gave us complimentary desserts (chocolate ganache and ice cream trio) which were delicious. I wish I had taken more photos of the food but by then I was starving. The presentation of the food was excellent.

Yelp
I had a very disappointing experience with the hostess, CC. When I walked in, I assumed (as is common at most restaurants) that the bar was open seating. Several seats were open, so I went to have a seat. Almost immediately, she came over in a rude manner and told me it wasn't open seating. When I went to the front to be "checked in" I overheard her telling another hostess--again, rudely--that I was trying to seat myself. I addressed this directly with her but bc she was doing this thinking I didn't hear her, she wouldn't even look at look at me. And instead of trying to accommodate me or offer any options, she simply led me to a seat I had already explained I did not want. (I have hearing loss and had asked not to sit with my back to the restaurant, yet she made no effort to adjust, ask, or offer another solution.) It would have taken very little effort to clear the spot I was already at or find a reasonable accommodation, but instead I was met with unnecessary attitude and inflexibility. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected far better hospitality. Experience starts right when you walk in the door and "CC" made an incredibly negative impact. If you want to talk crap, CC then be ready to back it up. Rude!

Yelp
This place is so cute and super classy. The servers here are super fancy and very helpful. The interior feels like a new hip joint in a big city, which the prices reflect as well. But the food is so good and so is the service. We did a brunch here and I would definitely return for dinner.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for a celebratory dinner! They have curated a very nice atmosphere that makes for a lovely dining experience. The drinks were amazing! The food was great, our roasted carrots were undercooked but everything else was good. I would definitely recommend the salmon crudo! It was by far the most impressive dish we tried, and next time I would be curious to try more of their seafood dishes. They give complimentary desserts for celebrations (anniversary, birthday, etc.) and also do a Polaroid picture keepsake for you to take home!

Yelp
Impromptu Sunday brunch. I had a terrific experience at Urban Hill. I made a last minute reservation online easy peasy. We were seated directly upon arrival. We got a large high booth right in front of the bar. The decor was stylish and the ambience was welcoming. The service was helpful and attentive. We asked lots of questions, everyone was answered. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. Both were well composed, freshly made with good quality ingredients. I'm looking forward to trying Urban Hill in the future. Thank you for the delicious food and drinks.

Yelp
Honestly what I think set apart this place was attention to detail and service. Writing our names for our anniversary was top notch and makes an unforgettable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They started out strong with fantastic appetizers. Nice large shrimp in the cocktail. Squishy gnocchi with crunchy Brussels. Main courses were the fish special and pork chop Milanese. The Pork chop was a bit of a let down. The pork had two sections that were raw. The rest of it was cooked well so I was able to eat around it. We notified our server and they comped a dessert. Things happen so we weren't upset but at the price point you would expect a bit more quality control. We would definitely go back and give it another try. Our desserts were super delicious and the tableside Smores are a fun little activity. Easily accessible with no stairs for entrance and accessible parking in the garage, they also provide validation.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant in SLC. I've been wanting to try it every time I come here for work trips. The crudo was so good and the day boat scallops were perfectly done. I'll definitely be coming back here to try more things and shout out to the bartender that was attentive and very helpful with the menu and recommendations.

Yelp
I've already visited Urban Hill for brunch but finally got to try their dinner menu and had a great experience. Genuinely one of the best interiors in SLC, welcoming warm lighting and my boyfriend and I love the booths. For our appetizers, we ordered the half dozen oysters with the caviar add on. I believe it came with 3 west coast & 3 east coast. They were great and I definitely recommend the caviar. We also ordered a side of fries and it came out with a phenomenal malt aioli (Quite possibly the best I've ever tried) and I had to resist ordering a second batch. Unfortunately, (for me, my boyfriend loved his entree) my main course is where they fell flat for me. I ordered the Pork Milanese and was extremely disappointed. It was dry and almost completely flavorless. It came with like an apple chutney/salsa type topping and that only made it slightly edible. I will definitely not order that again and hopefully my next visit will be better. My boyfriend ordered the striped bass and pretty much inhaled it lol. We aren't normally dessert people but we felt compelled to try the affogato and it was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. The vanilla bean ice cream was PERFECT. Highly recommend it. All in all, I think Urban Hill is fantastic and I will absolutely be returning.

Yelp
Such an amazing dinner at Urban Hill the scallops were so delicious, i don't know that i can order anything else next time. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who can tell you every single flavor to each drink and dish. Definition of fine dining, in a gorgeous atmosphere heart of downtown.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is great and service is amazing. They have the best stake. Very good wine selection. I would highly recommend Urban Hill.

Yelp
A surprising find on Christmas Eve. They offered a holiday course meal which looked really good, however we arrived late and only went to get drinks and snacks. The place is decorated well with cozy seating and modern features, has a wine cellar, fire place, open kitchen, nice bar area. Service was excellent, helpful, friendly and not overly attentive. We got apps, desserts and drinks, all pleasantly surprised. The calamari and brussel sprouts sound like usual apps, but they added interesting twists of flavors and/or texture to flare things up. The desserts and drink selections were also pretty good - wasn't expecting to see ube in an American grill, apparently there are quite some Japanese/Korean staff or influence in the kitchen. Love the texture and flavor pairings, not overly sweet and added so much little sparks. Would definitely come back to try their main dishes (ex. Bison steak, lamb, etc.)

Yelp
Perfection. Best meal I've had all year. Our table of three shared many dishes and loved all. Every veggie dish rocked. Lovely cocktails. Incredible service. Taylor was wonderful. Great vibe! And fun birthday celebration touches.

Yelp
Came here for Easter brunch. They serve brunch buffet style which I do like for an Easter brunch. The food overall was very good. The area where the food was laid out was a tight fit, but they didn't want to give up table space. The service was good, a little slow on the drinks but all of the staff was very friendly. I was a little surprised for the price of the brunch that coffee and/or mimosa wasn't included.

Yelp
I'm not sure I'd recommend this place for a romantic night out. Maybe it's different on a weekend but the clientele and noise level read "business dinner" to me. Price point is high but that may be downtown rents nowadays. We had smoked oysters, ravioli and the bone in ribeye special. The ribeye was really really good, cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and cut for us without a split plate charge. It was our anniversary and although they forgot the menu message, when I told them they did comp us a little chocolate torte that was quite nice. The only negatives were some heavy handed salt on the ravioli and the old fashioned which was a tad too sweet. Service was super nice on all levels. The poor guy could not pronounce the name of the pasta in the special, maybe strozzapreti or cascatelli. Somebody help him out!!

Yelp
We visited for my husband's birthday and had a lovely time. They gave us menus that said "happy birthday" as well as a Polaroid photo. Food and service were both great. We enjoyed the lumpia, duck, pork chops, and ube flan brulee. Yum!

Yelp
Excellent presentation, amazing service and unbelievable taste. Urban Hill delivers an extremely satisfying dinner experience. A first for me, the sablefish is a white fish that is cooked to perfection and presented extremely well. Hesitant at first, I am a fan. The sticky toffee desert was delicious and helped to round out the dining experience. The staff provided the food extremely quick but left us to eat and enjoy at our own pace. Well done!

Yelp
Foodie and traveling vegetarian businessman I am. Amazing, textures, my flavor pallets were dancing with excitement. I was playing off the Appetiser menu and each of the 4 dishes exceeded any and all expectations. Thank You "Urban Hill" SLC you have a local treasure in this place. Cheers Bartly

Yelp
My friends and I had a fantastic evening here celebrating a birthday! We were a group of 9 and we had a 730pm reservation on a Saturday. We arrived a bit early, just after 7 (had 2 cars and wanted enough time to get valet parking squared away). It's definitely got a classy, upscale vibe, plenty of seating, and a large bar area. We were hoping to start with a round while waiting, but it was really busy so we just waited up front by the host desk. We were seated at a long table adjacent to the bar. Our server was very hospitable and attentive. This was my first time drinking since Dry January so I was excited to dip my toes back in. I started with a sunset boulevard (bourbon, coffee bean oil, bitters) which was very strong but great for sipping. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer. It was delicious; the sauce was amazing. For my entrée, I decided on the pacifico striped bass, and for my second round, I opted for Amalthea's last regret, which I really enjoyed (I always love bubbles in a drink. Some others in the group started with oysters and the grilled caesar salad, had the pork chop, filet, and ribeye for entrees. We all were satiated and satisfied with every appetizer, drink and entrée, and somehow, we managed to save room for dessert. Between all of us, we got to try nearly everything - banana cream pie, sticky toffee pudding, and the ice cream trio (chocolate, vanilla, and a seasonal pear flavor). It's definitely a bit pricier, but this place is worth the splurge/special occasion. They even personalized the menu to wish our friend a happy birthday. I would absolutely come back here the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
You had me the moment I walked in, with your elegant yet hip style, and incredibly friendly and sweet staff. We came for our anniversary, and they made us our own personalized menu! How nice, we felt so welcomed. Since it was our first time, we had to order a little of everything. Skillet rolls with herb butter. They looked so beautiful, and were light and fluffy. They were good, not necessarily amazing, and to me, not worth $12. Something to try, but I wouldn't spend $12 again for these four rolls. Coal roasted beets - excellent, and a good portion. We loved the maple creme fraiche and balsamic reduction. Grilled mushrooms - loved! They were earthy and hearty. I loved the accompanying nopales chili relish which added a kick to each bite, and the breadcrumbs which added a crunch to the soft mushrooms. Roasted brussels- so good! With maple glaze, and the spicy crunch of the chili-garlic crisps. Sweet, Spicy and salty. I had the bouillabaisse seafood special. It was delicious, with a hearty amount of fish, scallops, shrimp, and crab. The only thing I didn't care for was the squid. Would have like more of the other seafood, and minus the squid. My husband got the coq au vin, chicken. The chicken was tender and flavorful, crispy skin, the bacon and onions, it was delish. They offered us a free dessert for our anniversary, but we were so stuffed! They suggested we take one home, and how do we not?! We took the banana cream pie with salted caramel and chocolate chantilly, and even the next day it was amazing!! We will definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Yelp
Oh boy...I had really high hopes for this place after reading some reviews. Understandingly, there are limited fine dining options in N. Salt Lake. Urban Hill is more downtown SLC. I was excited to try this trendy place. A beautiful restaurant filled with employees with the latest hair trends and fashions, the menu was appealing. I had a nice cocktail $18, and ordered the special cheese plate of a local utah cheese, with fresh cherry halves and crushed pistachios. Served with toastettes, it was nice. The cheese was solid , however, could have been warmed more. I went for the filet entree...creekstone farms filet $63 beef tenderloin, broccolini, garlic and herb fingerling potatoes, peppercorn demi-glace...medium temperature. The broccolini was undercooked...crunchy. There was 3 potatoes...2 halves and one small fingerling. The steak was medium rare to rare...not medium, and there was barely any demi-glace. I decided boldly to order a dessert to go, and went with Key Lime Pie. This was the biggest piece of key lime pie I have ever seen, with some sort of neon lime green sauce drizzled on top. It tasted like a boxed key lime dessert. Disgusting. Overall, a huge let down. For one...Appetizer, dinner, dessert and drinks...$182.00...and gratuity...$208.

Yelp
My family had a great experience here. Our favorite appetizer surprisingly was the grilled mushrooms. I would order them 100x again. The beef tartar was good and I would recommend it to someone who has never tried it. It's a great first try since it's seasoned pretty well. The calamari interestingly enough tasted like pork grinds. I didn't hate it but not my favorite. My entree was a filet and they cooked a perfect medium rare. Others chose the sablefish and pork tenderloin. I had a bite of the pork and would definitely order that the next time. Great place, highly recommend
