"The owners of Park City’s Hearth & Hill opened Urban Hill in 2022, and it was the first restaurant in SLC’s now-booming Post District. From the glass-enclosed wine room to the magic bathroom doors that open with the wave of a hand, Urban Hill obviously spent a ridiculous amount of money to build this 192-seat restaurant, and all the effort paid off. Start an order of skillet rolls served with churned butter and sea salt, then share a round of the coal-roasted beets or some grilled oysters. The Salt Lake Shirley mocktail is a fun riff on the Shirley Temple, and we also like their house cocktails, specifically the Mystic Rhythm made with Park City’s High West double rye." - Jenny Willden

We came here for our anniversary dinner and loved the place. Good environment. They gave us our own menus saying happy anniversary and we get to keep them. They gave us a complimentary mousse and a photo! That’s the first I’ve seen in a restaurant and we’ve been to many. Food was amazing, service was great. Overall a great experience

I was really excited to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I was craving something refreshing for the summer like ceviche and I loved it. Even though it was a starter the portion was plentiful. We also enjoyed the mushrooms and lamb chops. The pork belly was a bit too crunchy for my taste but still delicious flavors. Great wine selection is worth highlighting, we will be coming back!

Google
Great upscale restaurant! We went for a birthday celebration and it was so cute they print out custom birthday menus with the persons name on it. The drinks were delicious! I got the margarita and it was so good! It definitely was on the smaller side but full of flavor. As an appetizer I got the mushroom plate and it was seriously the best mushrooms I’ve ever had in my life! They were so flavorful. For the entree I got the Bass plate and it was delicious! It was very beautifully plated and the flavor was spot on. For dessert , we got the toffee bread pudding and OMG it was the best dessert ever! Order it and you won’t regret it! The service was amazing! Our server Gabs was very attentive to us and was super nice!! Overall a great dining experience.

Urban Hill was an incredible experience from start to finish. I came here to celebrate my birthday, and the staff went above and beyond—they even created a custom menu that said “Happy Birthday” which was such a thoughtful touch and they had a Polaroid at the end. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and the food was top-notch across the board. Every dish felt carefully crafted, and the service matched the quality of the food. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a memorable night out in Salt Lake. I’ll definitely be back.

Google
Everything was a 10/10! Literally every bite we tried was delicious! Our server Hailey M was so sweet and attentive. There was another server walking around filling water, and my glass was never empty! Definitely will be coming back. The only feedback I have is the black chairs in the room on the far right were pretty uncomfortable. Looking around, not all chairs are the same, others looked padded or leather, so I would recommend adding those ones to that room too!

I came into Urban Hill on a packed Friday night as a solo traveler and grabbed a seat at the bar. Jesse, Jordan, and the kitchen team delivered what was, without question, not just the best meal I’ve ever had—but the best overall dining experience of my life. As a vegetarian, I often worry about finding a thoughtful and exciting menu—but the team here absolutely nailed it. I mentioned to them that I’m trying to learn more about fine and upscale dining, and they went above and beyond. They built me a tasting menu on the spot and helped pair mocktails throughout the dinner. Every plate was exceptional, and the care and thought they put into the experience absolutely blew me away. I’m still in shock that I just happened to walk into Urban Hill that night. The entire staff—servers, manager, everyone—treated me like I was family, like I’d just shown up for Thanksgiving dinner. It was truly unforgettable. Urban Hill is something special. I can’t recommend it enough. The food is incredible, but the people are what truly set it apart

Google
8/10 Great variety of textures on the crudo and it’s really well balanced flavour wise. Mashed potatoes were sooo creamy although a little over salted for my taste. Steak was well seasoned, although it was undercooked. Definitely rare and not medium rare (for $63 I do feel it should be cooked as requested). Sauce was lovely. Broccolini was cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic and the venue is beautiful. Key lime pie was the star of the show for me, incredible.

Finally URBAN HILL! I had planned to be there but never happened. But it just randomly happened. I was glad, because the food was fantastic. Not disappointed at all. My personal favorite is the calamari honestly. Taro brulee turns out wonderful' biggest surprise! Will be back with my mum again!🥰

Yelp
Loved Urban Hill!!! Great spot, fun vibe, amazing food and exceptional service. What more do you want? And the prices weren't bad either. IT was a weekend and too late for me to get a reservation so we sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing! So friendly even entertaining. Wish I'd caught his name. We started with the skillet rolls, so tasty with a little salt! 5/5 Caputo's burrata toast. 5/5 Bison Ribeye, Amazing flavor with fermented chili. 5/5 My wife ordered the pork dish, tenderized and breaded, great flavor! 5/5 Fun spot on the higher end but not overly expensive. We will be coming back!

Yelp
We are always down to try something new, being in Utah my whole life it seems we've almost tried it all. I found urban hills as my husband wanted American cuisine for his Father's Day dinner! At first when we were seated by the host, we were seated by what it seemed like a big group party around us and it was hard for the waiter to greet us and we could barely hear. I asked if there was seating on the other side of the restaurant and they were able to accommodate us. We started off with oysters from west and east coast and the crudo. We were not informed which oysters were from west and east but oh well. Both appetizers were delicious. We ordered the lamb, and the sea bass. The lamb was cooked to chef's temperature, and as I kept eating my lamb was getting more raw so sadly I didn't finish that part. The balsamic glaze and risotto with the dish was good though. My husbands sea bass sadly had burnt skin as you can see in the picture which was pretty disappointing, and lacked flavor. He liked the risotto more than the star of the dish itself. Fries were fresh and delicious, French onion soup was also good. Mac and cheese I feel can definitely use a bit more flavor. Great place for date night but I feel like there could be some improvements on the food itself.

Yelp
Came here for a celebratory dinner with a pre fixe meal - for $150 (including 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 drink and tip). Comparing to Michelin Star places that also offer the same pricing with more courses and shorter waiting times in between dishes, I expected a little more from here. The staff were super friendly though, and the overall environment was nice. It's great for big groups and it's super spacious. The drinks menu was definitely a highlight.

David C.

Yelp
As usual the food was superb. Always fresh delicious and served with style. Our service was attentive and Natalie was very helpful with menus and our wine service. Ambience is always clean and modern, love this place. Not a huge fan of the s'mores, but the affogato was fabulous.

Yelp
Brunch at Urban Hill: A Stylish Experience with Stellar Food Walking into Urban Hill is impressive -- the space is incredibly stylish, with an eye-catching wine room and distinct sections throughout the restaurant, each offering a beautiful aesthetic and warm atmosphere. Even the counter seating looked inviting. We came for brunch and had made a reservation (which was a good call -- there was definitely a wait). We were seated in a random back room corner table -- more on that later -- but we were warmly greeted by our server, who was absolutely lovely. She was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We started with Bloody Marys, opting to add the little tiger shrimp for a small extra charge -- totally worth it. The shrimp added a great depth of flavor that really came through in the drink. Next up: a half-dozen oysters. Being big oyster fans, we were thrilled -- they were shucked perfectly, not too salty, and paired beautifully with a cucumber-yuzu mignonette that enhanced their natural brininess without overpowering them. For entrées, we shared the Creekstone Farms brisket hash -- a wonderful surprise packed with flavor, topped with over-easy eggs whose soft yolk added richness to every bite. We will definitely be ordering this again when we come back for brunch. My other half had the Croque Madame -- something I had never heard of before, but it was amazing. The dish featured toast layered with prosciutto and Gruyère cheese, topped with a sunny-side-up egg. The yolk from the egg was perfect for dipping the rustic seasoned potatoes and pulling in a bit of melty cheese, making each bite absolutely incredible. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert when we saw Key Lime Pie on the menu. It was massive -- the slice was huge! Our server thoughtfully brought two side plates and two forks before it even arrived, which we didn't understand at first -- but once we saw the slice, we realized why. It was the perfect way to portion it out without totally stuffing ourselves. We closed out with smiles -- it was an overall lovely experience. The only thing I'd change for next time: I'll request seating in the main dining room instead of the back corner. While the back room was fine, it lacked the gorgeous vibe and lively energy of the main space (plus it mainly looked out onto a driveway). But now we know for next time! Strictly food and service? Five stars all the way. Urban Hill is a brunch spot we'll absolutely be returning to.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate our 17th anniversary. Tl;dr it's a beautiful, high end dining experience with great service and well-plated, well-executed and overall delicious food. We had a reservation for 5:30 and the restaurant wasn't very busy. They walked us over to arguably the worst table in the house--right next to the bus station. Most of the section was empty. I kindly asked to be reseated so we could have a nice anniversary dinner and they moved us to arguably the best table in the house. Glad I asked! When we were seated, they asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We chose still assuming it would be the usual free water. It ended up being an $8 bottle of water. That sucks. I brought it up to staff but they ignored it. We started our meal with a few cocktails--the Pearly Dew Drops and The Arborist. Both were amazing and our favorite drinks of the night. We also had the Boots of Spanish Pleather and Mystic Rhythm, which were good but not as photo-worthy. For appetizers, we had the fried goat cheese, coal roasted beets, and skillet rolls. The fried goat cheese was the star of the show. I would also highly recommend the skillet rolls. For my entree, I had the creek stone farms filet. It didn't blow me away for $63--overcooked and a bit basic. My husband had the lamb bourguignon, which he also felt was a bit one note. He also got the roasted brussel sprouts, which neither one of us liked. Too vinegary and spicy. I brought this up to our waiter, but nothing was done about it. We finished the meal with a banana cream pie, which was delicious. The meal with tip cost about $330, which was expected for such a high end place. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and it was really nice to be seated by the window and be able to see them cooking in the kitchen. We'll be back for another date night, but may just split more appetizers and forego the entree next time. [Edit: A few hours later, the restaurant called and apologized for the difficulties we had and refunded some of the items we weren't happy with. They also mentioned they typically do a free dessert for anniversaries so they comped ours. I want to give them serious kudos for taking our feedback. Thanks for listening, Jess. We'll be back.]

Yelp
Great spot, loved the decor and vibe. Celebrated a birthday and along with the reservation, they made a custom "Happy Birthday" menu for us, no extra charge. We had ordered food to share, 2 drinks and a glass of wine for exactly $100+tip, not bad. We had the Crudo which was like a savechi. Then a Cesar salad, cheeseburger, fries, and Mac & cheese. The Cesar was good, the lettuce is grilled and warm, and I personally like cold crunchy lettuce. The burger was amazing, it's a smashed burger with all the toppings. The bun was loose and it got a little messy, but well worth it. The Mac & cheese was spicy and crunchy. The service was great, the staff is pretty hipster, friendly, seems like a pretty liberal spot and area. I'm sure we'll go back again.

Yelp
Beautiful experience in SLC if you're looking for something that's quite perfect for really any and all occasions from a date night, celebrations, corporate dinners, this place has it all and is great for it all. The food is quite on point which I feel like is hard to come by these days even in SLC, to no one's fault, just difficult to find very good places that have all their food, ambiance, operations and everything else all on point, it's rare. Urban Hill was a breath of fresh air. My husband and I grabbed dinner after I landed at the airport, we enjoyed the bass, lamb, two cocktails, and the ube crème brûlée. The restaurant was full at 9 pm on a Wednesday night but everything from the staff, food, service was on point. Every dish was excellent, unique, beautifully presented, and made of quality. Our waiter was Jordan and he was probably one of the best servers we've ever had, detail oriented, gave sound recommendations, checked in at all the right times, let us mull over the menu with ample time, super helpful and kind and we just adored him. The team here was outstanding. Overall it gave me hope that we can still attract some really great places in SLC and we will certainly be back, this will definitely be somewhere I consider to being out-of-state visitors and host corporate dinners.

Yelp
Was hoping for more. My wife and I have been very excited to come here for a long time because we've heard great things, but we were let down by the food. We started with a half-dozen oysters, which tasted incredible, but half of them were so tiny, I can't believe they served them. Then we tried the grilled caesar salad and mushroom appetizer. They actually cook the lettuce leaves to create a smoky flavor, but it isn't worth the soggy, warm leaves that come as a result. The dressing was decent, but too salty. The mushrooms, however, were unreal-- definitely the highlight of the meal for us. For entree's, my wife ordered the striped bass and I went with the bison ribeye. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. The steak was cooked perfectly, but I was not a fan of the mole negro that it came with because it overpowered the dish. Plus, the other items on the plate didn't contribute anything substantial. For $70, every element on the plate should be independently delicious and in balance with one another. I can't say that was the case here. My wife's striped bass was pretty good, but we didn't love the seasoning. The rice it was served on was great. We also shared a side of Brussel's sprouts, which weren't bad, but didn't impress either of us. My dirty martini was solid, but the olives in the glass were bland and tasted old. My wife's espresso martini was very good. We were happy with the service and the ambiance. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, which helped redeem some of the flaws in the food. Overall, we had a really nice time here, but won't be itching to come back any time soon. For just under $300, we left feeling underwhelmed given our high expectations.

Yelp
Great meal last night. Crispy Pork Belly was amazing and a generous portion. Followed up with Fire Roasted Maitaki Mushrooms and a glass of Nebbiolo. Rye Boulevardier (a Negoni with whiskey) for a night cap. All delicious. Friendly yet prompt and professional service. Chatted with sommelier Katie about the awesome wine program. Beautiful space. Wil be back next time in SLC.

Ellena K.

Yelp
We had heard Urban Hill was good but were even more surprised once we finally got the chance to visit! The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, great for a date night or business dinner. I started with the skillet rolls, which were salty and perfectly warmed. For the main course, we chose the lamb bourguignon and pork Milanese. The lamb was fall apart tender and infused with deep, velvety flavors from the red wine reduction. I loved the elevated take on this comfort dish. The pork Milanese was good also. Cooked well and we really liked the citrus flavors. Outside of the food, service was attentive. Parking was very limited, there were spots at the garage next door, but all except one were taken.

Rachael P.

Yelp
This place was POPPING for a Wednesday, definitely make a reservation in advance. The ambiance was lovely and great for business dinner or date nights. I will say the service was a bit slow and it took fairly long to get our main course, and seemed as if they had more bussers than waiting staff. The food was good, wide variety.

Rachel W.

Yelp
My husband and I normally have a rule where we don't go to the same restaurant twice because we want to try new places, BUT this rule does not apply to Urban Hill. We have been 4 times in 1 year. It is that good. The flavors are incredible and we love the creativity of the menu. Menu favorites are the mushrooms, carrots (biggest surprise for me), and striped bass. I wish I could try everything on the menu!

Nycole R.

Yelp
Just like Mary Poppins, Urban Hill is "practically perfect in every way." Dining here is more than a meal, it's an experience. I was treated to an evening out to celebrate my birthday, and every little detail was considered. Our reservation noted the birthday, along with a food allergy. When we were seated, I was delighted to see a special menu with "happy birthday Nycole" printed on the top-it's those little things that really are the big things. Our server greeted us and acknowledged the food allergy and offered suggestions on the menu of things that would be safe. Throughout the evening, service was impeccable. I felt like I was a VIP guest (however, I'm sure that everyone is treated equally well). The food was absolutely astounding. Executive Chef Nick Zocco, a James Beard award finalist, proved just why he's received such accolades. The dishes were amazing, with complex flavors and gorgeous presentations. The cocktails and mocktails were also delicious. Our server recommended a digestif which was also amazing. We took a picture of the bottle so we could remember it for next time. To top off the evening, they brought me a lovely chocolate dessert and took a polaroid picture of us and presented it back in a little paper frame. I'm not sure what could have made the night better-it was truly remarkable.

Sydney H.

Yelp
Such an amazing dinner at Urban Hill the scallops were so delicious, i don't know that i can order anything else next time. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who can tell you every single flavor to each drink and dish. Definition of fine dining, in a gorgeous atmosphere heart of downtown.

Danielle D.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant in SLC. I've been wanting to try it every time I come here for work trips. The crudo was so good and the day boat scallops were perfectly done. I'll definitely be coming back here to try more things and shout out to the bartender that was attentive and very helpful with the menu and recommendations.

K S.

Yelp
Excellent sweet and rich brunch, savory items are decent. The decor and vibes are fantastic, just a great ambiance overall. Loved the bread pudding and blue corn crepes, just really dig the out of box flavors and mix of ingredients, especially berries and cinnamon! The French dip was okay, I expected more seasoning as well as the eggs benedict, just solid, but I have definitely had better. Potatoes were pretty burnt so we set it aside, a waitress who wasn't ours walked by towards the end of our meal and offered new ones, which were much better! Overall, I would probably give them another try.

Cris L.

Yelp
Cool spot! The dinner entrees we got were extremely tasty and presentation looked great. My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. We ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer along with our dinner entrees. The one that stood out the most to me for food was the sable fish. My husband's pork tenderloin was also quite good. The appetizer (calamari) was nothing special and the cocktails seemed to be filled to the brim with ice. Make sure you make a reservation as that seemed necessary even though there were empty tables. They spaced out the parties in a good healthy way so it wasn't too noisy. It is also nice that they validate for parking in the garage next door. Pretty easy to find and park and even easier to get out. Just need to remember to ask for validation. Service was mediocre and is ultimately why there is a reduction in stars. I would have thought it'd be better given the type of restaurant and cost but we were seated and the hostess mentioned a waitress's name would be with us soon. It took about 40 minutes and then finally a lot of looks at the staff, one of the managers came over to start a cocktail order. It looks like there was some confusion on who would be our waiter since the original name was not who we ultimately ended up with. Needless to say, after that got sorted, our new waiter Dawson was super attentive and friendly. He even gave us complimentary desserts (chocolate ganache and ice cream trio) which were delicious. I wish I had taken more photos of the food but by then I was starving. The presentation of the food was excellent.

Samantha L.

Yelp
This place is so cute and super classy. The servers here are super fancy and very helpful. The interior feels like a new hip joint in a big city, which the prices reflect as well. But the food is so good and so is the service. We did a brunch here and I would definitely return for dinner.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Perfection. Best meal I've had all year. Our table of three shared many dishes and loved all. Every veggie dish rocked. Lovely cocktails. Incredible service. Taylor was wonderful. Great vibe! And fun birthday celebration touches.

Denise O.

Yelp
Came here for Easter brunch. They serve brunch buffet style which I do like for an Easter brunch. The food overall was very good. The area where the food was laid out was a tight fit, but they didn't want to give up table space. The service was good, a little slow on the drinks but all of the staff was very friendly. I was a little surprised for the price of the brunch that coffee and/or mimosa wasn't included.

Laurie M.

Yelp
Wow, this place is amazing. They created such a unique experience for us for our anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious!

Katherine T.

Yelp
I'm not sure I'd recommend this place for a romantic night out. Maybe it's different on a weekend but the clientele and noise level read "business dinner" to me. Price point is high but that may be downtown rents nowadays. We had smoked oysters, ravioli and the bone in ribeye special. The ribeye was really really good, cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and cut for us without a split plate charge. It was our anniversary and although they forgot the menu message, when I told them they did comp us a little chocolate torte that was quite nice. The only negatives were some heavy handed salt on the ravioli and the old fashioned which was a tad too sweet. Service was super nice on all levels. The poor guy could not pronounce the name of the pasta in the special, maybe strozzapreti or cascatelli. Somebody help him out!!

Grace S.

Yelp
I've already visited Urban Hill for brunch but finally got to try their dinner menu and had a great experience. Genuinely one of the best interiors in SLC, welcoming warm lighting and my boyfriend and I love the booths. For our appetizers, we ordered the half dozen oysters with the caviar add on. I believe it came with 3 west coast & 3 east coast. They were great and I definitely recommend the caviar. We also ordered a side of fries and it came out with a phenomenal malt aioli (Quite possibly the best I've ever tried) and I had to resist ordering a second batch. Unfortunately, (for me, my boyfriend loved his entree) my main course is where they fell flat for me. I ordered the Pork Milanese and was extremely disappointed. It was dry and almost completely flavorless. It came with like an apple chutney/salsa type topping and that only made it slightly edible. I will definitely not order that again and hopefully my next visit will be better. My boyfriend ordered the striped bass and pretty much inhaled it lol. We aren't normally dessert people but we felt compelled to try the affogato and it was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. The vanilla bean ice cream was PERFECT. Highly recommend it. All in all, I think Urban Hill is fantastic and I will absolutely be returning.

Natalie B.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for a celebratory dinner! They have curated a very nice atmosphere that makes for a lovely dining experience. The drinks were amazing! The food was great, our roasted carrots were undercooked but everything else was good. I would definitely recommend the salmon crudo! It was by far the most impressive dish we tried, and next time I would be curious to try more of their seafood dishes. They give complimentary desserts for celebrations (anniversary, birthday, etc.) and also do a Polaroid picture keepsake for you to take home!

Bartly C.

Yelp
Foodie and traveling vegetarian businessman I am. Amazing, textures, my flavor pallets were dancing with excitement. I was playing off the Appetiser menu and each of the 4 dishes exceeded any and all expectations. Thank You "Urban Hill" SLC you have a local treasure in this place. Cheers Bartly

Yelp
Impromptu Sunday brunch. I had a terrific experience at Urban Hill. I made a last minute reservation online easy peasy. We were seated directly upon arrival. We got a large high booth right in front of the bar. The decor was stylish and the ambience was welcoming. The service was helpful and attentive. We asked lots of questions, everyone was answered. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. Both were well composed, freshly made with good quality ingredients. I'm looking forward to trying Urban Hill in the future. Thank you for the delicious food and drinks.

Vanessa W.

Yelp
Honestly what I think set apart this place was attention to detail and service. Writing our names for our anniversary was top notch and makes an unforgettable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They started out strong with fantastic appetizers. Nice large shrimp in the cocktail. Squishy gnocchi with crunchy Brussels. Main courses were the fish special and pork chop Milanese. The Pork chop was a bit of a let down. The pork had two sections that were raw. The rest of it was cooked well so I was able to eat around it. We notified our server and they comped a dessert. Things happen so we weren't upset but at the price point you would expect a bit more quality control. We would definitely go back and give it another try. Our desserts were super delicious and the tableside Smores are a fun little activity. Easily accessible with no stairs for entrance and accessible parking in the garage, they also provide validation.

Emma Z.

Yelp
A surprising find on Christmas Eve. They offered a holiday course meal which looked really good, however we arrived late and only went to get drinks and snacks. The place is decorated well with cozy seating and modern features, has a wine cellar, fire place, open kitchen, nice bar area. Service was excellent, helpful, friendly and not overly attentive. We got apps, desserts and drinks, all pleasantly surprised. The calamari and brussel sprouts sound like usual apps, but they added interesting twists of flavors and/or texture to flare things up. The desserts and drink selections were also pretty good - wasn't expecting to see ube in an American grill, apparently there are quite some Japanese/Korean staff or influence in the kitchen. Love the texture and flavor pairings, not overly sweet and added so much little sparks. Would definitely come back to try their main dishes (ex. Bison steak, lamb, etc.)

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Came here as a party of 4 during the film festival. The ambiance was very cozy and inviting, and it's a really big space. Service was friendly throughout the evening, with our waitress offering some great recommendations. We started out with grilled oysters which were delicious. For my entree I ordered the Pacifico striped bass. Everything came out very quickly and the portion sizes were perfect. I enjoyed the bass and the pineapple sauce added a nice sweetness.

Edgar V.

Yelp
Really good place and service The quality of food and drinks was great We will return

Shane A.

Yelp
Perfect. the services was impeccable, the menu well rounded and unique: bison, seafood, and premium beef options were great. The baked Alaska was a hit with our table.

Gina T.

Yelp
We visited for my husband's birthday and had a lovely time. They gave us menus that said "happy birthday" as well as a Polaroid photo. Food and service were both great. We enjoyed the lumpia, duck, pork chops, and ube flan brulee. Yum!

Michael K.

Yelp
Excellent presentation, amazing service and unbelievable taste. Urban Hill delivers an extremely satisfying dinner experience. A first for me, the sablefish is a white fish that is cooked to perfection and presented extremely well. Hesitant at first, I am a fan. The sticky toffee desert was delicious and helped to round out the dining experience. The staff provided the food extremely quick but left us to eat and enjoy at our own pace. Well done!

Deedrah B.

Yelp
My friends and I had a fantastic evening here celebrating a birthday! We were a group of 9 and we had a 730pm reservation on a Saturday. We arrived a bit early, just after 7 (had 2 cars and wanted enough time to get valet parking squared away). It's definitely got a classy, upscale vibe, plenty of seating, and a large bar area. We were hoping to start with a round while waiting, but it was really busy so we just waited up front by the host desk. We were seated at a long table adjacent to the bar. Our server was very hospitable and attentive. This was my first time drinking since Dry January so I was excited to dip my toes back in. I started with a sunset boulevard (bourbon, coffee bean oil, bitters) which was very strong but great for sipping. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer. It was delicious; the sauce was amazing. For my entrée, I decided on the pacifico striped bass, and for my second round, I opted for Amalthea's last regret, which I really enjoyed (I always love bubbles in a drink. Some others in the group started with oysters and the grilled caesar salad, had the pork chop, filet, and ribeye for entrees. We all were satiated and satisfied with every appetizer, drink and entrée, and somehow, we managed to save room for dessert. Between all of us, we got to try nearly everything - banana cream pie, sticky toffee pudding, and the ice cream trio (chocolate, vanilla, and a seasonal pear flavor). It's definitely a bit pricier, but this place is worth the splurge/special occasion. They even personalized the menu to wish our friend a happy birthday. I would absolutely come back here the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
You had me the moment I walked in, with your elegant yet hip style, and incredibly friendly and sweet staff. We came for our anniversary, and they made us our own personalized menu! How nice, we felt so welcomed. Since it was our first time, we had to order a little of everything. Skillet rolls with herb butter. They looked so beautiful, and were light and fluffy. They were good, not necessarily amazing, and to me, not worth $12. Something to try, but I wouldn't spend $12 again for these four rolls. Coal roasted beets - excellent, and a good portion. We loved the maple creme fraiche and balsamic reduction. Grilled mushrooms - loved! They were earthy and hearty. I loved the accompanying nopales chili relish which added a kick to each bite, and the breadcrumbs which added a crunch to the soft mushrooms. Roasted brussels- so good! With maple glaze, and the spicy crunch of the chili-garlic crisps. Sweet, Spicy and salty. I had the bouillabaisse seafood special. It was delicious, with a hearty amount of fish, scallops, shrimp, and crab. The only thing I didn't care for was the squid. Would have like more of the other seafood, and minus the squid. My husband got the coq au vin, chicken. The chicken was tender and flavorful, crispy skin, the bacon and onions, it was delish. They offered us a free dessert for our anniversary, but we were so stuffed! They suggested we take one home, and how do we not?! We took the banana cream pie with salted caramel and chocolate chantilly, and even the next day it was amazing!! We will definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Yelp
My family had a great experience here. Our favorite appetizer surprisingly was the grilled mushrooms. I would order them 100x again. The beef tartar was good and I would recommend it to someone who has never tried it. It's a great first try since it's seasoned pretty well. The calamari interestingly enough tasted like pork grinds. I didn't hate it but not my favorite. My entree was a filet and they cooked a perfect medium rare. Others chose the sablefish and pork tenderloin. I had a bite of the pork and would definitely order that the next time. Great place, highly recommend

Yelp
This was an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant atmosphere was very moody. The servers were very knowledgeable & made fantastic recommendations. As for the food, it was top notch. The roasted beet salad was exceptionally fresh, the skillet rolls are a "must have", the sablefish was extraordinary and the banana crème pie was the best I've ever had. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Lovely dinner! We had a memorable evening at Urban Hill--from cocktails to dessert! Great service from Adam. We are visiting from Boise and was walking distance from Sheraton (6 minute walk). Loved the onion soup, grilled oysters, grilled mushrooms, roasted chicken, and sticky pudding. Every bite delicious! We'll be voting for the Rye Skies cocktail that is competing for SLC Magazine's "farm-to-glass" contest.

Yelp
We have been here twice now and had a fantastic experience both time. You definitely need to book well in advance which may mean the menu looks a little different but it has been stellar both times. The servers were very attuned to our needs as a group of 5 adults and one well-behaved kid and even took my niece's homemade uno cards to the back and laminated them for her! Since moving to SLC it has been really hard to find food with any flavor and Urban Hill hits the mark every time. We will be back once our budgets allow for it!

Yelp
This was a real disappointment. I watched a local news program with the chef from this place. He was making delicious looking scallops! So I suggested we try the place. We like to support local restaurants. We had another couple with us. We went for brunch & cocktails. I ordered a Suze gimlet. That, my friends, was a great tasting beverage! My boyfriend order a bloody mary. It was okay. One of the other peeps at our table ordered a cocktail but they brought him a cocktail he did not order. They did correct the mistake later. The restaurant is big and beautiful inside and we were having a nice time at our table. The biggest disappointment was the food. It was not great. We ordered the avavocado toast, the burger, the French toast and the breakfast burrito(possibly enchilada, tasted like it had mole on it). It's a pretty high end restaurant (expensive) so I would assume the food would be epic, or at least pretty yummy. The food was very disappointing! Such great ambiance, it too bad.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and scene. My wife and I were in from out of town and couldn't get a table so we sat at the bar and had amazing service from the bar tender. My wife had crab ravioli and Brussel sprout salad (she loved both). I had the farms filet which was cooked perfectly. We'll definitely come back if we're ever in town again, highly recommend. To top it off we had the banana cream pie (mmmm).

Yelp
Great meal in every aspect. Had several good appetizers including the coal roasted beets (really tasty) and the caputo's burrata whose cherry compote and other additions on the sourdough were great. The pork tenderloin and chutney were really well done. The Mystic Rhythm drink was a fun rye drink with a little chile tang. And the service was great throughout the night.

Yelp
I don't think we'll ever come back here. In the context of SLC, this is on the upper end in terms of price and the food was absolutely average. We had a wide range of dishes and I was just expecting a lot more flavor considering how good a lot of other SLC restaurants in this price bracket are. Portions are fine, you'll definitely get enough to eat. The best things we had were the beef tartare and the fries (I feel bad that fries made our top dishes of the night but really nothing else was that impressive). Ribeye was dry and didn't pair well with the texture of the sauces it came with (in my opinion) one of the pastas we had kinda tasted like something you could get at olive garden, ravioli was pretty good, chocolate souffle (despite taking like 30 min to prepare) was the most basic tasting chocolate souffle i've ever had. This sounds like an awful review and maybe it was just an off day, but I really couldn't leave this place justifying spending the money we did. For me, there are MUCH better restaurants in the same price range.

Yelp
The Sunday brunch you NEED! Love Urban Hill, gorgeous interior, beautifully crafted dishes, delicious food, great service! This is such a solid spot for both Sunday brunch and dinner. I've had dinner here twice so far and brunch once, and I'm ready to go back for brunch! A few of my favorites from brunch include the smoked salmon avocado toast, hill's orange roll, cinnamon toast crunch, and crudo. For dinner, I love the pacifico bass, it's so delicious with the pineapples! For dessert you must get the ice box cake which is a mousse cake with housemade mint ice cream and a phenomenal honey mousse. Plenty of GF options for dinner, but they don't have many GF brunch items presently. This is a perfect spot for dates, groups, and families. Lovely atmosphere! Prices for brunch are very reasonable, and I recommend getting a bunch of different plates to share for brunch. This is a must try restaurant in SLC!

Yelp
This is a beautiful space with absolutely delicious food. We went on a work dinner and were able to try the beets, Gnocchi, burrata and carrots. All divine. I had never ordered bass before but now I know better! Outstanding! The banana cream pie was also incredible. We were glad to see they did a Mother's day brunch so we could return (not really the kind of place I want to take my kids on a Saturday night) and their brunch was surprisingly incredible. The french toast and pancakes were absolute stars and our sons loved the variety. Thrilled with this addition to SLC's food scene!

Yelp
Good service! Great ambiance! Good food! A bit pricey. The Brussels sprout salad and skillet rolls were very tasty, probably the best part of our meal. The steak was very good, but not amazing. We also had the bass, which had great flavor. We wish the bass would have come with a side.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday!!! When I say I can't wait to come back I can't communicate how much I think about going back soon! There was so much on the menu I wanted to try and after trying what we did order I need to go back soon so I don't miss out on all the things I was eyeing but didn't have the stomach space to order. We had the gnocchi appetizer! Holy sheezballz Batman it was fantastic!!!! Great flavor profiles and was so fresh. We also ordered the mushroom appetizer and that didn't disappoint either. The scallop risotto special was perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. I had a vegetarian pasta dish and typically those are lacking a bit in flavor but this one was packed full and just delicious!!! We also ordered the spicy peas as a side and they were perfect. The dessert and the experience were something special. The staff made my birthday extra special with a table side Polaroid photo and the torte. They checked on us often. I loved the ambiance too. Clean and cozy and warm. The windows really add to the feel. I just love this place. Can't wait to go back. One of me favorite restaurants now in Salt Lake!

Yelp
Brunch here is reasonably priced and their food is great-- we loved the adovada burrito, eggs benedict, and salmon avocado toast. We also enjoyed the mimosas but they weren't anything mind blowing. However, I felt like dinner was a bit overpriced. It is Park City pricing, but located in SLC. Be prepared to spend $100/person for dinner because the portions are small. I am not sure if the food really justifies the price, but the ambiance and kind service do. I would come again if looking for a certain kind of fine dining vibe. Parking is free with validation, and they also offer valet parking for a fee.
