Hilton Is Adding 20,000 EV Stations to North America Hotels - AFAR
"Starting in 2024 the hotel group will install 20,000 Tesla Universal Wall Connectors—configured as six chargers at roughly 2,000 properties across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—to expand overnight EV charging for guests and more than double the number of its hotels with onboard charging. The Tesla Universal Wall Connector hardware can charge both Tesla and non‑Tesla vehicles (and is accessible via Tesla’s app or website), and the rollout is intended to reduce range anxiety and meet rising guest demand, as searches for hotels with charging capability have been growing and converting into stays. The initiative builds on an existing base of about 1,850 locations worldwide that already have EV chargers (approximately 80% in North America), while some all‑suite brands—such as Embassy Suites and Home2Suites—already require chargers in newly built U.S. hotels; installations will be sited across the full portfolio in coordination with Tesla.
