"Set on the rolling hills of a 2,500-acre working farm in Matamata, Waikato, New Zealand, the original movie set from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit has welcomed daytime visitors since 2002 and is offering, for a limited time, an overnight stay via Airbnb to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Host Russel Alexander will open parts of his family farm so guests can stay in the Millhouse (two rooms configured to sleep up to four), with access to 44 hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn, and a behind-the-scenes private tour. The experience includes an evening banquet of beef-and-ale stew, whole roast chicken, freshly baked breads and plenty of ale, plus daily Second Breakfast and Elevenses. Only three two-night bookings (March 2–4, March 9–11, and March 16–18, 2023) are available at NZ$10 per night; booking opens December 13 at 9 p.m. GMT, guests are responsible for travel to Auckland, and round-trip car transport is provided for the two-hour transfer between the airport and the set." - Bailey Berg
