"About 45 minutes north of Ithaca and an hour southwest of Syracuse, The Aurora Inn is a five-inn lakeside property of meticulously restored buildings from the 1800s and early 1900s. Guest rooms are decorated with furniture and art from founder Pleasant Rowland’s personal collection, and each inn has a distinct feel. Initially constructed in 1833, The Aurora was the first of the inns to be restored in 2003, and was the property of Edwin Barber Morgan, co-founder of the New York Times and American Express. Four more properties were restored to their former glory over the years, the last of which was the 1909 home of Morgan’s grandson Robert Zabriskie, the work of which was finished in 2019."
