"Set in the Alentejo hills near Odemira, Craveiral Farmhouse is a self-sustaining quinta where families live close to nature across clustered whitewashed houses and shared courtyards; breakfasts come from the garden, and children can ride horses, collect eggs, feed animals and sleep with only a billowing curtain between them and the outdoors. Interiors are cool and contemporary, meals are hearty, locally sourced and home-cooked by Portuguese grandmothers, and sustainability measures (rainwater harvesting, wood-burning stoves) run through the guest experience—an authentic, slow-paced farm stay I found utterly delightful.
