Hotel Distrito Capital

"How did it strike you on arrival? The lobby of this contemporary design hotel—located in the city's most important business district—is all clean lines and modern art. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Young business people in well-cut suits. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The rooms have impressive views of the city and the surrounding mountains. You can lie in bed and watch as the sun sinks and the city lights up. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Best part about the beds is that all the buttons and gadgets are within reach; no need to get up to close the blackout curtains or change the song. (The speaker system syncs with your phone so you can play music throughout the space.) Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. Some rooms have high-pressure rain showers; others have deep, rectangular tubs. (The one in the Royal Suite fronts floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can look out over the city during your soak.) Bonus points for the Aqua di Parma bath goodies. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free and fast. Room service: Worth it?Room service comes from the on-site restaurant by Chef Patricia Silvera, known for its Mexican-with-a-global-twist cuisine. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The fifth-floor pool is 43 feet-long—perfect for swimming laps (or taking relaxing dips). At night, the pool area turns into a bar, which is open until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The bathtub with a view is a bathing experience you likely won't forget. Also, the in-room speaker system connects to your phone, so you can listen to your own music. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Distrito Hotel is the perfect option for business and leisure travelers who want to be in Santa Fe—but not a traditional chain hotel." - Susannah Rigg
