"This is the first of two Maison Aleph boutiques created by banker-turned-pastry chef Myriam Sabet. Ideally located in the heart of the Marais–down the road from the department store BHV/Marais, a block from Hôtel de Ville (city hall), and two blocks from the Seine river, the independent shop offers Levantine pastries that nod to Sabet's Syrian heritage, featuring textures and flavors from the broader Levant region, and are anchored in French technique. The space is small but well-suited for a quick snack or taking your treats to-go. If money is no object, get one of everything. There is plenty that can be brought home with you in your checked luggage." - Lindsey Tramuta
