Villa Barbaro (Villa di Maser) – Landmark Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"What’s this place all about? Villa di Maser, an elegant Palladian villa, with it wide portico and interiors filled with Veronese frescoes, is just as architecturally interesting as the others in the region. But it's also a working vineyard, with wine tastings and farmhouse tours on offer as well. It's open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays, from April to October, and advance booking isn't necessary unless you're with a larger group. What’s it like being there? Festive and intriguing. Is there a guide involved? There are no guided tours originating on site, but there are suggestions for third-party guides listed on the villa's official website. Who comes here? People here for the wine, people here for the architecture, or people here for a little of both. Did it meet expectations? It's fun and fascinating. For those who cringe at the idea of yet another tour, the fact that the villa is also a working vineyard will make this one more interesting. So, then, what, or who, do you think it’s best for? People who want to get a sense of the region's history, as well as the wine production it's known for."
