Namale Resort & Spa, Vanua Levu, Fiji - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"How did it strike you on arrival? Intentionally designed to work with the natural beauty of the island. A luxurious extension of the surrounding nature. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Guests are relaxed. Every person seemed to be moving more slowly, taking in each detail around them. How was check in, getting to your room, and all that? Check-in and check-out were both fluid. The customer service was top notch, with courtesies and a willingness to help that came naturally and never felt forced or disingenuous. The room tour was thorough but not intrusive, and there was no great difficulty working the lights or other technical components. Any help needed was a quick phone call away with fast, eager responses from staff. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The Ocean Tropical Bures was air- and light-filled. It almost felt as if I was outside with the curtains all pulled back. High ceilings helped make the effect all the more dramatic. A private deck was surrounded by palm trees and island foliage. Native island elements and materials were used throughout to create a comfortable, luxurious space that felt like an extension of Fiji's natural beauty. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? I loved the cookies baked fresh daily, cozy seating nook, and private deck with ocean views. Room service and food: Worth it? Mini fridge with daily refreshes and fresh baked cookies could be found in the room. Several restaurants, including the Main Bure, Walu, as well as Namale Organic Farm and private dining accommodations, could be found on property. In-room dining was also available. All unique and special in what they offered. Dietary preferences can be communicated and carefully followed throughout your stay. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. Beautiful Spa available. Many activities like scuba diving, island excursions, and more. The resort is accommodating to and hosts weddings and other events. All-inclusive packages are available for golf excursions, water sports, and kayaking. There's a full gym with an indoor basketball court and bowling alley. Bottom line: worth it, and why? Yes. Worth it. Relaxing, beautiful, exclusive, private, and accommodating to any type and style getaway you're after. Whether activity packed or chill and relaxed. This place goes the extra mile to help you find your perfect vacation." - Corbin Chamberlin
