"Located at 222 West 11th Street in the Heights, I visited a new cocktail bar and lounge that aims to bring an L.A.-style day-to-night lounge experience to Houston. The menu features a wide range of wines, champagnes, mocktails, and intricately composed cocktails — including the Wolf of 11th Street (Hoja Santa Sous Vide Tequila, cantaloupe melon, honey cilantro syrup, ancho verde, and black salt) and the White Collar Crime (cacao nibs infused with Texas bourbon, pecan turbinado, cacao blanc, and Aztec chocolate bitters) — plus coffee-based drinks like espresso martinis and a carajillo thanks to a collaboration with Tenfold Coffee. Small charcuterie-style boards are available, including one loaded with pickles and another with hunks of creamy burrata, seasonal fruit, and cured meats. Founder Morgan Hansen says she was inspired by travels and Los Angeles lounges to create a space where you can “go from having brunch Sunday Funday with all of your friends, and then seamlessly transitioning into having a DJ come in at night,” and the roomy interior with 20-foot sliding doors, varied seating (casual tables, banquettes, large circular couches), and an outdoor patio outfitted with a garden arch and string lighting — which Hansen says “definitely makes you feel like you’re not in Houston” — supports that day-to-night transition. Best Regards is positioned as an upscale place to log off and decompress; its hours are Tuesday–Wednesday 4 p.m.–midnight, Thursday 4 p.m.–2 a.m., Friday–Saturday 2 p.m.–2 a.m., and Sunday 2 p.m.–midnight." - Brittany Britto Garley
