"A new restaurant project led by Warriors star Draymond Green together with AlaMar Dominican Kitchen and Sobre Mesa chef Nelson German and restaurateur Guma Fassil (of Meskie’s Kitchen and Garden) will open at 1000 Larkin Street in Nob Hill on Friday, March 7; a press release says it will "reimagine contemporary Afro-Latin cuisine through an Ethiopian lens." Diners can expect a mix of dishes such as sambusas with berbere-spiced beef and the Dominican stew sancocho, and the bar menu will continue along that theme with cocktails featuring Caribbean and Ethiopian ingredients and flavors, per the San Francisco Chronicle. "It’s merging two diasporas," Fassil told the news outlet. "The traditional ingredients of Ethiopian cuisine and mixing it with the passion and adventure and seasonality of Dominican cuisine." The concept is named after Fassil’s mother." - Dianne de Guzman
