"The original Lyon location, which opened in 1997, leans on hackneyed, mostly ’80s-era stereotypes of Australia: Fosters beer (which the piece notes is neither cheap nor good), Paul Hogan imagery on social media, a wood-heavy “outback” interior inexplicably topped with a disco ball, and a mounted, possibly taxidermied crocodile on the wall. There are already five iterations of the same bar in France, the Ayers Rock name hasn’t really aged, and it’s not clear why the Montreal location needs to replicate this tacky concept when the owner runs several other bars without that name." - Tim Forster
