The William Tell House Has Reopened in Marin County With Cocktails and Seafood - Eater SF

"The William Tell House, a saloon in Tomales that dates to 1877, has reopened after a lengthy renovation project. The bar, restaurant, and inn officially opened at 26955 Highway 1 on June 28. The new version of the restaurant comes courtesy of chef Austin Perkins (Nick’s Cove; Cyrus), and showcases local ingredients. That means lots of seafood (mussels and fries, cioppino, and a seafood tower) as well as burgers, tacos, and salads. Check out the full menu below. As The Tell is the last full bar before Valley Ford (the tiny village between Marshall and Bodega Bay on Hwy 1), consultant Ethan Terry (Alembic; 15 Romolo) stuck with classic cocktails that appeal to a broad audience, like a Campari Spritz and a Pimm’s Cup. The bar also serves local beers and wine. The Tell has indoor seating at tables and the restaurant’s 100-year-old mahogany bar, as well as at an ample outdoor patio. The property also has four guest suites on-site, which were also revamped during the closure. Restaurateur Ted Wilson (The Hall, Fine & Rare) bought The Tell in June 2018, and after a brief pop-up bar, closed it for renovations starting in November 2018. The Tell is part of the Always Fishing Hospitality Group, which also includes The Alice Collective cafe in Oakland and the Metal + Match catering company. The Tell is open Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m." - Erin Russell
