"Known as the gateway to Sonoma wine country, Ram’s Gate is the first winery when traveling to Sonoma from San Francisco and it’s definitely worth the stop. New food-and-wine offerings include the Arbor Experience ($300, available Thursday, Friday, and Monday), a private, six-course tasting featuring serious dishes like fried red wine–marinated quail and yogurt-marinated lamb loin. It includes a tour and can accommodate a large group under the arbor with a view of the vineyard. For just a little less food and money, there’s a five-course option ($160, available Thursday to Monday), which is essentially the same menu minus one wine and a cheese course." - Jess Lander
