"I'm excited that proper Texas-inspired breakfast tacos will make their debut this weekend in Playa Vista as HomeState heads to the Westside for the first time. The buzzy Los Feliz spot, which was a one-off neighborhood staple for years before expanding to Highland Park in 2018, will follow the Highland Park model by offering more than just breakfast basics and handmade flour tortillas — it pushes equally into cocktails and beer, with lots of margaritas, palomas and Lone Star brews for the truly Texas-minded. The focus is on breakfast tacos (available all day), plus queso, migas and shredded brisket. Per the restaurant’s Instagram the first day of service is tomorrow, starting at 8 a.m. sharp, with immediate hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week; its arrival is good news for Playa Vista tech workers and longtime locals, though it will face competition from many Oaxacan restaurants on the Westside." - Farley Elliott
