"Opening today on Decatur Street in the former Cafe Giovanni space, Cleo’s Mediterranean Cuisine has launched a 24/7 French Quarter location at 117 Decatur Street. I first noticed Cleo’s when its original Roosevelt Way spot opened in 2015 as a 24/7 convenience-style outpost, and it quickly became known for supplying vegetarians, service-industry workers, tipsy late-night diners, and anyone craving excellent hummus and Middle Eastern food; that location briefly closed before reopening on Canal Street in early 2018, when owner Tarek Madkour announced plans for a store-free French Quarter restaurant. The new second location is its first full restaurant and, according to The Advocate, features an expanded menu, Middle Eastern decor, and an in-house pita bakery; it will be open 10 a.m.–10 p.m. today and tomorrow, then operate 24/7 starting Wednesday, February 13." - Clair Lorell
