"A fully unauthorized “pop-up parody restaurant fan experience” is resurrecting McDowell’s this May at Springfield Town Center, recreating the burger counter from Eddie Murphy’s 1988 cult classic Coming to America and also bringing to life Murphy’s character’s apartment and Mr. McDowell’s office. Run by JMC Pop Ups under Joe McCullough—who has staged Moe’s Tavern, Galaxy Burger pop-ups, and McDowell’s elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic—the pop-up will serve the movie’s seedless-bun Big Micks (including a meatless variety), a Magnum Mick with one pound of beef on a long, seedless bun, plus chicken chunks, salads, and a few other items. It runs May 20–June 5 (Thurs–Sat 11 a.m.–7 p.m., Sun noon–5 p.m.) at Springfield Town Center; tickets start at $35 for adults and $15 for kids." - Stephanie Carter
