"Tucked inside the forthcoming Politan Row at Ashford Lane, Okay Anny’s is set to debut in early 2024 as a cocktail bar and lounge that channels a glitzy, late-1980s/early-1990s aesthetic. I note that it will echo the glamorous 1970s-style sibling JoJo’s Beloved in Midtown but lean into the culture, music, movies and TV of the late ’80s and early ’90s, with bold abstract design—think brass and fern mixed with mirrored blinds, brightly colored acrylics, and vaporwave-inspired decor—backed by a soundtrack of guilty-pleasure pop, dance tracks, chart-topping hip-hop, and new wave; the concept is described as where Marty McFly meets the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Cocktails will offer updated takes on kitschy classics like the Kamikaze and Colorado Bulldog and variations on the Cosmo.
