"No Brazilian meal can be considered complete without feijoada, the country’s beloved pork-and-bean stew, and at Boteco, it is served buffet-style every Saturday in five different varieties. Sides include pork and beef loin, sausages, bacon bits, fried bananas, and farofa. Boteco’s a la carte menu features no-frills bar fare, such as pastel (a fried turnover stuffed with chicken, cheese, or beef), chicken hearts sautéed with onions, and entrees like picanha served with two sides. The laid-back restaurant is also known for its crowd-pleasing pagode nights and lively soccer match parties, so arriving early to score a seat is a must." - Juliana Accioly

Jeepney Filipino - Wynwood

Restaurant · Midtown

"When American troops left the Philippines at the end of World War II, they left behind hundreds of jeeps, which were quickly scooped up and tricked out by the locals, who made them their own and gave them a new name: jeepneys. At Jeepney, chef & restaurateur Nicole Ponseca is channeling that same uniquely Filipino sense of creativity and independence. When the fun & lively Jeepney opened in New York’s East Village in 2012, it quickly became a sensation, introducing many New Yorkers to the wonders of authentic Filipino cuisine. It’s since relocated to Miami, where it’s made just as big a splash in the city’s Wynwood neighborhood. The legendary Filipino dishes that put Jeepney on the map are now available in Miami!"
