"Opened on August 14 after two and a half years of development, the Studio City outpost of Jon & Vinny’s aims to replicate the ambience and buzz of the original while adding a full liquor license and bar. I appreciate the familiar design touches—light wood furnishings and soft lighting—so you immediately know it’s a Jon & Vinny’s, but the full bar is what sets this location apart: bar reservations are unavailable to encourage casual drop-ins, and Helen Johannesen’s cocktail program riffs on classics with two takes on a Negroni (one on the rocks and one poured tableside), a margarita, high-end spirits by the glass, and retail bottles behind the bar. The food menu is intentionally the same as other locations to avoid disappointing regulars, with breakfast options like Anson Mills polenta with olive oil and Parmigiano Reggiano, buttermilk pancakes, spaghetti carbonara, and a breakfast pizza with potatoes and a fried egg; lunch and dinner focus on house-made pastas, pizzas, and larger proteins such as chicken Parmesan and a red wine–marinated sirloin steak, while bestsellers include margherita pizza, spicy fusilli, and a gem lettuce salad with Calabrian chile dressing, followed by desserts like lemon ricotta cookies, tiramisu, and Italian rainbow cookies. The Studio City restaurant is family-friendly (a kids menu with spaghetti, shells, and pizza plus seating inside and on the patio), the owners are excited about community response and new local-studio–inspired merch, and Jon & Vinny’s Studio City is located at 11334 Moorpark Street, Studio City, CA 91602, open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Rebecca Roland
